Although the ending was anti-climatic and the character routes didn't seem to mean anything in the end. I think they work better as their own entirely separate stories, not connected to Moon and Terra. Also Spoiler: click to toggle The hell was up with the Earth Dragon "fight"? The Rewrite instrumental theme starts playing so you think it's going to be a major fight, but it's over in 2 seconds. waaaaaaaat

While I've only finished one route so far, I have very high hopes for it. I picked it up because it sounded interesting, and it constantly delivered. And delivered. And delivered some more. Every time I felt it might be getting into a dull segment, it brought something new to the forefront with excellent pacing. I was wow'd so much by it that I had to look up who the writer was, at which point I found out it's written by the same guy who did Remember 11 (which was an excellent, albeit unfinished visual novel). Unlike R11, this game didn't suffer horrendous budget cuts, so provided that it keeps up this very high level of quality, it may just become my favorite VN to date. If you're a fan of the Infinity series (Remember 11, Ever 17, etc), the Science Adventure series (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate), or even .hack// or GitS, you'll probably enjoy this.

Definitely want to read the others. I plan on getting Steins;gate once I have money for it, and then watching the anime after. I've been reading through Umineko recently. On the 4th question arc currently I believe. I read the manga for Higurashi up to the middle of the second to last arc and then read the visual novel for the end of that arc and the last one.

While they're two independent stories with distinctly different feels, there is continuity between them (chaos;head takes place about 2 years before steins;gate, in the same universe). If you have no plans of reading chaos;head, then don't worry about it. Knowledge of chaos;head isn't necessary for reading and enjoying steins;gate, but I think you get more out of the experience by reading chaos;head first. Anyway, since my last post, I've finished the B and C routes of I/O, and man does it give you a lot to think about. It's an incredibly intricate story. Telling the story from multiple perspectives adds an enormous amount of depth to what we see, while also meaningfully locking the truth behind multiple routes. I've also come to realize that the list I gave for "if you enjoyed these, you would also probably enjoy I/O" was even more accurate than I originally thought, for reasons I cannot get into at risk of spoilers. =p

Although maybe "was" isn't such an accurate statement; finishing the E route marks roughly the 75% mark. There's still 5 mini-routes afterward, A'-E', which I'm looking forward to. The story is... beautifully complex. You can really tell it was written by the same writers as the infinity series. "The beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning."

I'd say you understand it perfectly. If you were a person that experienced delusions all the time, would you know what's "actually real" all the time? Sometimes, you might think you're experiencing a delusion, and act out something unintentionally. Sometimes, you might think you're in reality, but everything was just a trick of the mind. Other times, the line might be even blurrier, where truth and fiction intertwine. They use this uncertainty to great effect imo. Personally, I always liked making a save at delusion triggers and viewing all three choices (green, red, and no delusion). Some of the red delusions are downright scary =3c

I just finished it and man, that was such a roller coaster of creepiness and mind ****... It's probably not saying much coming from me, but that was the creepiest story I've ever experienced. Spoiler: click to toggle dat severed hand (if I ever hear that ring tone in real life, it will probably scare me >_>) dat dead end in hospital dat reveal about Takumi and his breakdown afterwards ahhhhhhhhhhhhh someone kill me now lmao @ the real New Gen criminal. I just wish the ending wasn't so abrupt (I got both A and AA endings). I've only seen the Steins;Gate anime, so maybe the VN has references to what happens to these characters afterwards? It's so weird to me that these can take place in the same universe, though. I wonder which VN I should read next. Muv-Luv, Hoshizora no Memoria, I/O, g-senjou no maou...

It's mostly just easter eggs, like bringing up how lightning-fast knighthart helped in one of the initial searches for the IBN on @channel, or referencing the gero froggy that was popular a while back, or the band with the white-haired chick I don't remember the name of having some cameos (this one is probably most noticeable, since it's part of one of the backgrounds shown early on, but there are others that require clicking certain keywords in the mails to see), and other small things like that. I had a list of them at one point, but idr all of them. But while the easter eggs are cool, the biggest reason I suggest reading chaos;head before steins;gate is because it serves as an introduction to the "committee of 300" ahead of time, which made reading steins;gate a lot more interesting for me.

Dat pose she makes when she's talking casually. And I really like pink hair for some reason >_> The game is kinda creepy, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I think IRL stories freak me out more in general.

Major Chaos;Head spoilers The group dive is never explained. Shogun clearly isn't a bad guy, so why did he supposedly make those five commit suicide? I also don't understand why Rimi was at the first crime scene and covered in blood. Again, never elaborated upon unless I missed something. The whole thing with Yua and Mia confused me too. Is Yua actually Yua or is she Mia, or is Mia a delusion or something? Is any of this explained in route B?

Takumi is an unreliable narrator, remember? He's a very paranoid person. Just as he thought yua was out to kill him, he also mistook the culprit of the group dive as being shogun. I can understand where your confusion is coming from, since most of the time takumi thinks shogun is behind everything, and we observe the story through takumi's eyes. However, the person who was actually behind the dive was in fact the same person that was behind all of the other new gen madness cases (who I cannot remember the name of for some reason... the adachi-like guy, though). She wasn't necessarily covered in blood, though. There were four people at the crime scene at that time: Takumi, Rimi, the real culprit, and the victim. IIRC, the meeting of multiple gigalomaniacs caused something like a mass delusion in which takumi saw rimi as the murderer, while the adachi clone gets off without being seen. Remember the picture grim sent takumi of "the staking" before it took place? Takumi recreates that scene in his delusion, but the actual staking is much less graphic, and was in fact fairly tame compared to the other NGM cases. This part is mentioned long before the grand reveal, too, so even before the halfway point we already know that takumi was experiencing a delusion of some kind that night. This was all explained at some point; pretty sure it's after takumi meets shogun (in person). Quote: The whole thing with Yua and Mia confused me too. I suggest rereading the part where it goes into yua's backstory near the end, because I can't help you with this one, and I don't have chaos;head on this computer to check. The split occurs just before the last chapter, but it's based on like... 11 specific delusion triggers before then, so I haven't actually read the B route, myself. Was planning on doing it in a reread at some point, since so much of the material is the same (and skip is shitty with delusion triggers).

Major spoilers for both Chaos;Head and Persona 4 I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought Suwa was another Adachi lol. Lighthearted detective? Check. Hangs around a more serious detective? Check. I called him being a bad guy loooong before the reveal for these reasons. Grim being the nurse was wtf though, and a good twist overall. I always thought there was something suspicious about Grim. As far as Yua is concerned, that's the scene I'm talking about I believe. It just kind of confused me.
