Is there a way to see completion percentage? I can't find anything. What does getting 100% do anyway?

Completion only matters as far as endings and Tiger Dojos go.

Completing all five endings (Fate has one, UBW and HF have two) unlocks a bonus "Last Episode", which is an alternate Saber ending.

Seeing all 40 Tiger Dojos unlocks some kind of dev roomish thing where Ilya and Taiga talk about the game and like some stuff that was considered but cut (such as an option to actually team up with Shinji, etc)

I haven't bothered getting all the Dojos, lol

But yeah, you don't have to see every piece of dialogue from every random choice to 100% F/SN.

Also HF is best route, and 99% of anyone who who doesn't think Fate is the worst is either biased for Saber or against Sakura.

Just do Heaven's Feel and form your own opinion on it. It's my favourite route, so your mileage may vary.
Last Episode might be more accurately called the True End of the Saber route...? But it would definitely have to take place after everything else in the game to fully appreciate.

That's fine, it's the worst route anyway.

Last Episode was put in entirely because Takeuchi kept bugging Nasu about

Fate route spoilers
but for what it's worth Nasu now considers F/SN incomplete without it, so. Guess you could call it Fate True if you want, but more accurately it's more like just an extension of Fate's only end.

Yeah, I haven't done Heaven's Feel yet either and I'm taking a break before it even if it's the best one. That break might turn into a "play another VN before going back to it" break if Satty says "play F/SN" one more damn time.

I had that plot twist spoiled for me as well, still loved it regardless because it's a fantastic twist.

:awe: Yeah, I'm done with that. But again, we were over this -- you'll completely forget about it otherwise, and it will join the heap of things that you've abandoned before the ending/at the final dungeon, etc... so you leave me no choice, brother~

(but seriously I'll lay off <_< >_>)

Do you really think he's going to forget Fate/Stay Night is a thing so long as he keeps coming here and post bantering with me?

Also lol my brother was the same way, he always used to quit things right before the end, sometimes literally right before the final boss fight

Yuuuup, Silv's like that. Silvy, how many games are you stuck on? I can think of FFX right off the top of my head.

Too many, I can't remember. It really doesn't help in the cases where I've seen you beat it and lose all desire to beat the game after that(like FF6)...

I am actually quite tempted to try out another VN before going back to F/SN though, preferably something short like possibly Saya no Uta? I would like to give Rewrite or Kira Kira a go but I'm not sure if you can do a single route and still "get" the story to them(I'm assuming a yes for the latter?).

Rewrite is one of the few VNs I've played every route to the end in, and without taking massive breaks. I highly recommend it, but you probably won't be coming back to FSN anytime soon if you do.

edit: Actually, I take that back. I took a two week break from rewrite because of IRL stuff, and actually went back to it, unlike how I normally move on to something new when I stop playing something. If anything, I think that is a greater testament to how good rewrite is.

Kira Kira is slice of life for the most part (though with some drama) so while you won't know everything about the other two heroines just from one route, you'll get pretty much the entirety of the main plot, yeah.

Unless you do the main heroine. She has two endings and you need to get the normal one before the true one.

I have no idea why you'd want to read VNs if you don't want to read multiple routes.

Read Umineko?

Well, there are some VNs that only have one good heroine. For example, family project has like... one or two good heroines. Out of five.

If you want a short read but don't mind not having a true end, give remember 11 a try. It's a very very good read... at least until you finish it. The game unfortunately ran out of budget before its completion, so the third route (which would've served as the conclusion) was never put in. You can still get a pretty good understanding of the story if you read the bad ends, but this is something I feel I should caution you about: Don't go in expecting a neat and tidy conclusion; you're going to have to put together a lot of pieces to the mystery yourself. There's one bad end in particular near the end of the second route that sheds a lot of light on things.

oh wow

First of all, maybe I like the medium for reasons other than being able to pick multiple routes?

Second of all, maybe I'd like to clear a route, then go back to F/SN and finish the other routes at a later point in time?

Third of all, Umineko is really long, puh-lease go?

Yeah, Kira Kira seems tempting enough so I might go with that. Remember 11 looks pretty interesting but that incomplete story is a turn-off, even if I'm only going to finish 1 or 2 routes at first, it would be nice to know that I will have a proper conclusion for when I get around to it. Budget problems are the worst problems.

Wow no clue why you're so offended.

Multiple routes are a staple in VNs. It's like wanting to play an RPG but hating leveling systems.

Kira Kira is pretty long too, so I'm not sure how good of a choice that is. Umineko (not including Chiru) is about as long as Kira Kira so there's not that much of a difference there. You can always just read an episode or two and then stop anyway.

I think there's a misunderstanding here. Silvanus wants to take a break from F/SN and read part of another VN, and he's looking for something that he can read a singular route of that doesn't necessarily tie into a huge overarching story, similar to Katawa Shoujo.

Yeah if he does that there's no way Kira Kira's gonna take as long as Umineko lol

Unless he just does it one episode at a time, of course
