If there's one thing good I have to say about this game, it's...

That in my opinion, it has the second best battle theme in the series. I'm referring to the theme that plays during the introduction, and again once you reach Craggy Peak. It's almost, but not quite as good as Isaac's.

Of course, there are other good things about the game as well, but that's not what this thread is about!

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

I thought it was pretty meh, myself. Not terrible, but not great. Didn't leave an impression.

Thanks Poui.

Isaac's battle theme is boring.

Giraffes are adorable.

Jenna's theme is where it is at.

I preferred both of Felix's battle themes, but that was mainly because for me none of the music in Dark Dawn stood out AT ALL. The only songs I can hum are the generic cave music (IE: every dungeon except one or two), Post-Eclipse town music, and the main menu tune.

Sunny was disappoint in DD's soundtrack.

I can't remember much of the music from DD, but I've only played it once, so...link?

BTW Saturos > Jenna = Isaac > Felix. Theme-wise, of course.

The DD soundtrack didn't strike me as having the same general awesomeness as the TBS and TLA. I don't really have anything to complain about, though. However, toward the end I think it gets decidedly epic, with the Tonfon track, and pretty much everything from The Endless Wall onward. The themes for the Chaos Chimera and Blados and Chalis weren't as epic as the Doom or Fusion dragons, but still good. And of course, hell yeah to the rmixed Saturos them for the bonus bosses.

After listening to DD music on Youtube for a while the music really started to grow on me.

While I did appreciate the remix of my favorite track from the GBA games, I felt it got used a bit excessively. They should have left it as Star Magician's theme, using the Fusion Dragon theme for Dullahan again, and either remixing other old boss fights for the other two, using boss themes from DD, or giving them new ones. It felt a bit stale using Saturos' theme for all of them.

Yeah, to me the music for the bonus bosses in TLA seemed to detonate a kind of difficulty/rank. Valukar, who is probably the easiest, just got the normal boss them from GS1, whereas the hardest, Dullahan, got the final boss theme. It felt a bit cheapened to use it for all the bonus bosses. Although I don't really like the track that much so I guess I'm biased.

Also Eclipse battle theme>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all other normal battle themes.

Wow. People are actually hating on Sakuraba more than I am. I actually thought DD's soundtrack was overall really good, and both of the normal battle and boss themes were pretty much great.

The soundtrack in this game was decidedly mediocre, if you ask me.

Still, I did enjoy a few of them.

This game definitely has the weakest soundtrack. There were a few good tracks (Blados and Chalis' theme and their battle theme are both really good), but there were very few tracks from the first two that I didn't enjoy to some extent.

I was really hoping it wasn't Sakuraba at all. I was only sort of motivated by the eclipse theme for the events in Belinsk, an then after that I avoided the shadows just because of the music. IE, it wasn't the horrible jump in monster difficulty which got better by the mid-40 levels, it was damn. boring. music.

Even TLA's boat music was better than DD's, and I think everyone collectively HATED the boat music DX

I liked TLA's boat music. Not as much as the overworld theme, but it was still pretty nice.

I didn't like it solely because I was the sort of person who wouldn't clue in that I'd been to X Island three times already XD Or I'd go to Izumo and then go off on the boat looking for Gaia rock.

Wha? I loved the boat music in TLA. It was definitely one of my favorite tracks.

This. I actually feel that DD's soundtrack is pretty much on par with GS1 and 2's, but I guess that's just me. I love all the normal battle themes, at least like all the boss themes, and love quite a few area themes. (particularly this, this and this.)
