Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Let's just wait and see what happens.

People like this are the reason I have a very hard time calling myself a Christian, even if I more or less [title=Well, says my dad, anyway. We all know how HE is.] share enough of the same beliefs as them.[/title]

Sadly, it's always the nuts who draw attention, so idiotic religious people are always the most prominent.

I have no problem whatsoever calling myself a Christian. I find it severely distasteful when people judge me based on what someone who claimed to be Christian has done. We can talk about Religion all we want, just don't attribute things you've heard other "Christians" do to myself. Stereotyping is never good, for either side.

While I can kind of see the thought process behind his actions, I do not agree with them. I say leave the evangelizing to the pulpit or study groups.

Death comes to all of those who oppose me.

Not being Religious as well I can understand that side of it. He isn't as bad as the people from Westburo who protest funerals of dead soldier and maybe even John Edward's Wifes because they believe America is going to hell for our support of Homosexuals. I don't find myself attaining to any religion for a variety of purposes, but Artemis speaks true. From the look on the T.V. you wouldn't know that there are millions of Muslims in the country who don't want to blow us up, or that there are thousands of them serving in our military trying to combat Terrorism. Most people are good religious or not and it doesn't matter of what religion they are. I personally can't find myself to believe in the mysticism of it all; although I don't have problems with those who do. One of my best friends for 16 years considers himself a religious person and we get along great. I typically on have real problems when groups of religious people come to my table at school or my house and condemn me to hell for the lack of person faith.

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

Oh, good, this thread is actually turning out civil. Thanks for being more mature than a certain other forum I go to, Temple. =)

That said, even as a Christian, I can completely understand Steve's stance in light of incidents like that. It's always annoyed me how people who act like religion is an elitist club do more to hurt their cause than to help it.

Wheey! I've became a human being!! I am very handsam!

Seeing the actual quote in context, I feel like this was misrepresented just a little bit, he didn't quite think through what he was actually saying. Like, I would say (and do believe) that if you're not a Christ-follower, you're not experiencing the full, abundant life that God wants for you, he has so much more to offer you, and I sincerely hope that you find that life in Christ. I think something like this may have been the intent of what he was saying. However, with all that said, it was still a really dumb statement for him to make, especially in his position and in his INAUGURAL SPEECH (you know, your very first official act as governor) of all places.

I used to, but now I just sort of tune them out.
