Hell yes. I must say this has some of the sweetest music ever. Especially the battle music. The End of a Though and Fighting of the Spirit ftw \m/ |

I really like Glint of Light although I admit that's far from the best battle track in the game. But yeah, so much of the music is not only awesome, but really memorable and varied. Sakuraba's best work IMO. |

Guess I'll go with C for this one, although I don't think it's necessarily Sakuraba's very best work. It still has some pretty weak songs, like the boss theme and the third standard battle theme. |

But are there any games out there that have absolutely no weak songs at all? |

Oh, just saying. I've yet to see a battle theme in Baten Kaitos Origins that has a weak song. If I don't remain a ToS and Sakuraba hater for the hell of it, who will? (“・ω・)つ |

Oh u. Speaking of which, I still have yet to play a Baten Kaitos game. So much on my list of stuff to do. |

I need to get Baiten Kaitos myself. And beat Skies. ![]() I think Sakuraba does sweet battle themes, but I love a lot of the area and scene themes in this game, probably more then the battle stuff in fact. A Wood Carving Star is so heart-warming to listen to, and Mizuho's theme is great as well. |

Frankly, as far as Sakuraba goes, I usually don't pay attention to most of the area themes. I remember ToS had a few good ones, but Golden Sun is the only series where I pretty much payed attention to all of the area themes. And yes, Sakuraba does some awesome battle themes, but he also does horrible ones. |

Probably because I don't play many games with Sakuraba's tracks, but I do like a lot of his themes...some of them do sound very samey though, and it ends up as 'if you've heard Sakuraba once, you've heard practically all of his music styles'. :U Golden Sun was one where I listened to all the area themes, but I don't think I did much for Dark Dawn though. |

My problem isn't that they're 'samey', it's that some are just flat-out bad. Like almost every normal boss theme he composes. |

I actually found myself humming along to most of Dark Dawn's music. <.< |

Golden Sun and ToS do have different styles, even if both are recognizable as Sakuraba. ToS uses a lot of bells, and sounds very epic and holy. Other tracks feel either peaceful or dire. Golden Sun is very melancholy. GSDS has more ToSness to it. |

I thought DD had good music, but there wasn't as many tracks I found as interesting or memorable as in the first two games personally. The first battle theme was definitely something I liked though. As Kiki said, it did remind me a lot of ToS as well.

ToS has some nice music, yeah. I think I liked more of GS' music as a whole, but there were some specific tracks in the ToS soundtrack that I adored, so. |

I think GS1/2 is some of Sakuraba's best works, just because with the stripped-down "prog band" format, he really was forced to branch out into polyphony and some amazing chromaticism to get stuff across. Tales of Symphonia and Abyss are both awesome as hell, although he loses a bit of the rockness in favour of a more symphonic style, they're both fantastic. I do somewhat hear you on the battle themes, but they're still pretty sweet. However I think he may follow theory a little bit too strictly there. Of course, there is also Baten Kaitos and Origins, which are awesome but not as awesome (in respect to the first, I haven't heard the second). Dark Dawn is like GS-meetsTales, with the big bells and choir sounds, especially in the last dungeons. While I agree that it wasn't as good overall as the first GS games, it had some outstanding moments: the aforementioned dungeon, all the especially chromatic pieces, and a few others that I can't mention here because lolspoilers |

Valkyrie profile series laughs at you! One had a good boss theme (it actually got remixed) [yt-sound]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ertvporcCZI[/yt-sound] along with some gripping dungeon themes [yt-sound]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iV7cSTMcOE&feature=related[/yt-sound] [yt-sound]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucjksitQy2g&feature=related[/yt-sound] for instance. YMMV on that though. I can do VP2 though. Apart from Huge eliminator it's got pretty solid battle themes too. |

Oh, I'm well aware VP has great music as well. Confidence in the Domination is the best normal boss theme by Sakuraba, imo. |

I never actually found Confidence in the Domination that great. Better than normal Sakuraba fare, but still. My favorite Sakuraba normal boss theme would either have to be Evidential Material from Baten Kaitos Origins or Dark Dawn's first boss theme, |

Voted confirm because ToS was before Sakaruba's slump where mostly everything was mediocre *coughTalesofVesperiacough* Agreeing with the Baten Katios games having some of his best works though. He does tend to be kind of weak on normal boss themes though, yeah. My favorite normal boss theme from him would have to be the second boss theme from Tales of Eternia (which has the oh so creative name of "Midboss 2") :U |
