Yeah, the thing with Legends 2 is that because there are more Special Weapons, it's harder to upgrade them all and pay equal attention unless you intend to one hundred percent complete the game. I've mainly stuck to about three this whole playthrough. It was a bit easier in Legends 1 because you had less Special Weapons. I would like to try them all out though. And that means I'll probably use the Homing Weapon since hoo boy have I powered up that thing to max. Also lolcapcom. |

Homing missile is more than capable enough to carry you the rest of the way, yeah. At this point I'd only discard that if you want to use the Blade Arm or the Shining Laser (while it takes about twice the length of doing the rest of the game to upgrade this to the max, which, of course, is more money than you can carry at once, it reaches Game Breaker status on everything but the final boss before hitting 100%). Of course, the Shining Laser can only be made after you go to the final level so... |

Wow, I really missed a lot of quests in Legends 1... After checking a guide on GFAQs, I found out that I've barely done any of them. I didn't even know the Shining Laser existed in the first game. >_> |

It's quite cool that it has so many, especially considering Kattlelox is a sole, if big island. Kinda like Clock Town in Majora's Mask. But yeah, you get a real push for revisiting areas of the town after each quest and seeing how it impacts each person and their take on it. There wasn't much of that in Legends 2 because it was set on different islands. Paper Mario's Toad Town and Rogueport do this well, as does Tazmily Villager in Mother 3. |

lol yeah, that's why obscure games nobody's ever heard of that will be lucky to sell even 1/10 as many copies as MML3 would keep being released |

I don't follow the logic of your second response. Anyone who actually expected them to renege on the cancellation is delusional as hell. I came to terms with this decision LONG ago, time to move on people |

Well, what I mean is, it doesn't seem like "the outcome many games ultimately face" if other companies are constantly releasing games. |

He's not talking about games that get announced and then cancelled. He's talking about games we don't even see or hear about, games that don't make it past the greenlighting stage period. If this game had undergone a normal development procedure, we wouldn't have even known about it before it got cancelled, because it hadn't even been greenlit. Plenty of games do get cancelled in exactly the same way Mega Man Legends 3 did, only we don't hear about them at all, because that's just how the business works--for exactly the reasons we've seen here, the potential for major fallout from fans if you get their hopes up. I wonder--had they just gone for the typical development process and not said anything, would we have seen a greenlit game? My hunch is "no," but you never can tell with these things. |

I've come to terms with it as well, but that doesn't make it suck any less, nor does it mean I'll ever forget that Legends 3 exists, but will never see the light of day. Honestly, this wouldn't have hit as hard if Capcom had just kept quiet about it until it was greenlit; you bring up some pretty good points. |

By ZX (or maybe shortly thereafter), weren't humans using so much technology to augment themselves, and reploids had such humanlike qualities that there was no longer any distinction between the two? |

Pretty much, yeah. The only explicit distinction I am aware of beyond the modifications (augmented bodies for humans, limited lifespan for Reploids) is the red inverted triangle the Reploids get on their foreheads. |

So Peo was like "OKAY I'MMA BEAT ELYSIUM!' and an hour later he was all 'ಠ_ಠ'. Though in truth it's a neat, if time consuming dungeon due to changing the gravity if you want to get all the treasure because I r greedy~ I've saved with the Residental Area lift operational, so with the bosses left, I should hopefully beat MML2 tonight. |

^That, so many JPRG final dungeons try to go out of their way and seem pretty or evil or whatever with their Scenery Porn, but Elysium manages to be awesome for the exact opposite reason; the sheer lack of anything in the Residential Area and the mechanics of the level itself (not to mention the music, but this IS a Mega Man game) is pretty cool. It's probably my favorite final level in the series (as in, Mega Man as a whole), just ahead of Ragnarok from Zero 4. Granted, the final stages for the main platformer games are usually just short sections with the boss rush in them... |
