Predictably, Luna Adepts seem to have power over shadows and the power to nullify Psynergy. This corresponds to Templeverse skillsets Umbra and Null, respectively. However, Sol Adepts, such as the ones we see in Belinsk, have power over light and... ... the ability to speak with the dead? That's, er, Holy and Necro from the Templeverse series. Nice curveball, Camelot. Nice. And in all honesty, my favorite part about this game is how it much it expands Weyard's scope of Alchemy. We see that more can be done with Psynergy, and we still know that more yet can be done. This is going to make for some great RP'ing in the future.

Except the "Power to speak to the dead" could be a beastman thing, as Sveta can do so with her Spirit Sense. |

No, Spirit Sense reads the minds of the deceased. The report is people ACTUALLY SEEING ghosts. Which Sveta herself can't do with spirit sense. It's probably Beastman only because Beastmen are the only solians. calling it now, and they're also SO VERY CREEPY. |

Again... Gonna have to point back to Sveta. If you do the bag scene where you take the bag to the kid in Sana, then go back to Kaocha, you'll find the grandmother and grandfather killed by monsters. Spirit sense them, and you'll see them. |

While that may be true, Ryu, I think that the way Camelot placed this kid, beside the kid who says that he can use light, fills in the other half of their powers. Not to mention that no other Beastmen mentions this, and the kid seems rather afraid of her powers, like she can't really control it. The dead reach out to -her-, she doesn't reach out to the dead. While it could be a general beastperson ability, I find the general way in which the person was placed, that they were Sol Adept and didn't mention it at all prior, Camelot's way of indirectly stating that that's what Sol can do. |

I still think it's a case of natural Beastfolk abilities, rather than newfound powers. We'll see. |

I thought Holy was Light, Buncancer. =/ Check my sig for my Frozen Candlelight attributes. If Holy isn't Light in the sense that the Beastmen meant it, I don't know what is. @ Gwydd: explain your logic. |

Man, I really should have named all the domains better. >_> Holy deals primarily with forces of attraction ala Empedocles' Love principle, but this idea of "closeness" can work through "empathy," person to person, or "divinity," Adept to god, which brings in the whole typical angels and scorching holiness powers. Also that's how it cures status and stuff, by drawing out the poison. xP Anyway. |

@Adnarel Well, I'll need to play through the finale again and talk to everyone in town again and recheck what they say, but from what I got, the speaking to the dead and seeing ghosts are all things that Sveta can do anyway with just Spirit Sense – which is, in fact, Wind, not Light. I would hesitate to jump on it being a new Light Psynergy when there's a simpler explanation available. Occam's Razor. Again, I need to re-read what they actually say, because I'm going off memory here. |

Occam's Razor just refers to whichever argument is most convincing, not which one is right, Gwydd. It's only the one girl by the harbour who mentions it, Gwydd, to help narrow your search. The one near the boy who talks about controlling light, if that helps any. |

^ Yeah, I saw it as holy fire and healing/status. Also maybe buffs. Basically, the support/healing psynergies and holy fire fell under the "Holy" domain. "Light" (previously called illusion) was what I always saw as light itself, bending it for invisibility/illusions or blinding bursts. So control of light mentioned in DD would probably fall under the Light domain, not the Holy one. |

=P Seriously. And I think this sort of thing is why we really need to sort out Solian psynergy, eh? What did you think Light/Illusion was, then, out of curiousity? And on topic; another notable thing about the Luna/Sol thing is what they did with Blados and Chalice withstanding the heavy light. In Templeverse we've often treated darkness as as weakness of Solians and light as a weakness of Lunarians - it appears that Lunarians may better withstand heavy light than any of the canon clans, though. |

Hmmm... well, this is just a theory, but it could be that Lunarians innately resist all psynergy - and if thematics still hold true in GS, then light is comprised of all four elements in balance, meaning that those of the Umbra clan have innate resistance to it without the need for gear. However, just as the umbra gear had its limits, I bet they have theirs as well. Remember, you fought them in the shade. Of course, given the fact that before the game came out, a common cry was that "Sol and Luna are just symbols, not elements". Since Camelot shot that down, who knows what's really the case? I did notice something, though. It may be that Lunarians are unable to manipulate shadows in the same means as psynergy. Remember in battle - they never cast any spells on you. The closest they got was using items. Save the Dark Shield, they fought as though they were inepts. |

The coolest thing I've got out of this is the Western and Eastern element wheel merging. In Shugendo, the five elements are Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and (sometimes hidden) Void. In Alchemy, the five lements are Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and (sometimes hidden) Aether. Void and Aether seem to apply well to Dark and Light Psynergy well, the two Fundamentals. |
