So I recently started playing this and I gotta say I'm enjoying myself so far. Now while I could describe Demons Souls to you, I felt that these pictures did a better job of doing so.![]() ![]() And this is not a lie. Even the generic weaklings can beat the crap out of you with unfair combos or by teaming up against you or setting up some simple or elaborate trap just to kill you. Walk down some stairs, get sucker punched, off the edge and fall to death. Walk into a room full of barrels, torch gets tossed in from behind you and all the barrels explode. Low on health, enemies take turns hitting you so you can't heal. Get chased into a corner and soil yourself. Walk down a walkway and get roasted by a dragon. Try to fight some knight one on one and he laughs when you hit him and then flicks your forehead and kills you. Walk into some random tower, crazy psycho woman with an axe slices you apart. Fun game. Very beautiful graphics. But god damn do you have to work for anything, and this game is spiteful. If you accomplish something it's like the game sets out just to screw you over for payback. Also be careful when you get killed. If you die, you leave behind a puddle of blood that holds all the souls you've collected. Souls are the currency in this game so, yeah, they're important. Your body vanishes and you are now a spirit with half the health you normally had, however your damage is increased by 50%. Now you might not think that a big deal but...every foe you've beaten up to that point has respawned, so you have to fight your way back to your blood. If you die on the way back to your blood, bye bye bloodstain from before. |

You forgot about the whole community aspect of the game. You can see souls of other players in the same area as you and see what they do. If you see a bloodstain on the ground, somebody has died there, and you can see the last ten seconds of their life which may tip you off to some imminent danger ahead. You can read messages scrawled on the ground by other players as hints. If you have died and need your body back, you can allow yourself to be summoned to help another in fighting a demon, or you can invade another player's game as a Black Phantom and kill them to get your body back. |

Yeah, forgot about that. I haven't played multi yet, but I have watched my fair share of people falling to death, fighting something, going places that specifically warn them not to and the occasional white ghosts of other players running around. I've left my blue soul stone lying around but nobody summons me so, I'm assuming they don't need the help. Mainly I've grinded 1-1 over and over because of that dang dragon on 1-2. |

I would totally get this if I had a PS3. Also I wonder which is harder: God Hand or Demon's Souls? |

Oh look, the sequel to Demon's Souls. And since this one's also for 360, I'll actually be able to play it! |

Yep. Dark Souls was announced awhile back. Unlike Demons Souls, it's removing the class system and letting players simply choose their stats this time around. Maps are extended horizontally and apparently do not require warps to get around, AND it's going to be multi-platform. So now my 360 friends can play the game we've all enjoyed, but it's going to be even better. I'm sure I'm missing stuff that's been said but that can all easily be looked up for those curious. =) |
