So… Alex can use the Warp, we remember. Supposedly, that's what he's using in this game as well, when he glows golden, and then warps. At first, I thought that Golden Glow was from the Golden Sun energy in him. But Blados and Chalis give off that golden glow of energy when they Warp as well. Perhaps it's just this game's rendition of the Psynergy, like how it left behind after-image vertical white lines in the previous installments. What I'm really interested here is that Blados and Chalis can Warp to begin with. If it's a Psynergy known by the Tuaparang, its possible Alex learned it from them. This suggests that Alex learned the Warp Psynergy from Tuaparang before even the beginning of the first game. Which means he's been planning FAR ahead. That's one huge Gambit he's prepared. |

God damn. I didn't even notice the significance of Blados and Chalis warping. I just assumed it was a thing all antagonists could do from birth. After reading what you posted, I immediately thought "What if it was the other way around? What if Alex taught Blados and Chalis how to warp soon after he met them?", but now that seems unlikely, as it only becomes apparent that Alex is even aware that they are adepts of a sort at the very end of the game. So unless the Warping psynergy is more of a technique than an actual psynergy, I don't see how that could work... You may be on to something here... |

Also, in the opening, you see the Tsaparang airship dropping something on a mountain. People say it's Tsaparang rescuing Alex from Mt. Aleph... honestly, the mountain doesn't look like Mt. Aleph to me, but it could just be due to it being a different game with different graphics. Why would Tsaparang rescue a random shmuck? Maybe it does make sense Alex was working for them all along... perphaps that's even where he got all his knowledge from... |

...That would actually make sense, considering that Alex knows things that Mia and Kraden don't even know, which certainly means he didn't learn them from the Mercury Clan or their travels. Of course, it's also possible that the Tuaparang were just watching and waiting for the Golden Sun to rise again, and saw that Alex got the power. |

Did they ever use it when Alex wasn't there? It could just be that he was counted as being 'in their party' at the time... |

Alex feels very much like Aizen from Bleach at this point actually. Initially good, disappears with batshit powers and comes back way later (two arcs later in Bleach) with an altered form and an ultimate goal no one really knows about. There's a lot in common there, even in their dispositions. I bet there's some Trope for it actually. |

If they're taking part of his Psynergy, they'd need to share it by holding hands. Blados and Chalis both use it without holding hands with him, and I'm pretty sure I remember them using it on Talon Peak as well, when he wasn't with them, though I could be wrong. |

It's only said that Mind Read requires you to hold hands to receive the same effects. It could also be that Alex cast it on them individually... |

I doubt it. He always had to be standing next to and touching Saturos or Menardi when he warped them. |

Does that mean that whenever you have Isaac/Felix/Matthew using psynergy from a different party member, they're holding hands? That would make sense though, considering that whenever they're alone but still around their party members, they can only use their individual psynergy. That would clearly mean that there has to be contact for a move to be used by someone else... but then again, they could just have Alex cast the warp psynergy on them whenever they need to move like that. But that would be inconvenient and require enormous amounts of energy. Who would ever have enough power to do that, I wonder. Or maybe it's thanks to some sort of equitable item, like the frost gem for example. Alex could possibly have made them, or the Tuaparang could have made them using the energy swallowed by the psynergy vortexes. This is all just speculation, of course. |

We've never been able to see Psynergy that is "cast one someone, granting them use of it." If Warp works at all how it looks like, and how it looked like in the previous two games, it's a power of Alex's, that he can share with others by touching them, but he wouldn't cast it ON THEM. If something's cast one someone, it's to cause damage, status effects, or heal. If it's used as utility, then it's used by the individual adept, or shared by linking hands. For example, you can't use Insight at Apollo Sanctum when you have control of only Matthew, even though Amiti is right there too. They're not "in the party" if they're just nearby. They need to be linked. |

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think Warp, a utility psynergy, could ever be "cast" on someone, causing them to have it as well, regardless of "enormous amount of energy." Unless the casting is really more like what Hama did for Ivan to learn Reveal. |

I was thinking more like it's being used on them to move them, like how psynergy such as lift moves an object, perhaps Warp could move something or someone through space. Of course, Alex would have probably had to have been in the area to cast it on them, so it's an unlikely theory. I wouldn't even have considered it if Ancient Demon hadn't done something similar. But still. I was just speculating. |

Whoa. I need to see that scene again when the airship is above a mountain. That has huge implications if the mountain is Mt. Aleph. |

The mountain doesn't really look like Mt. Aleph... Mt. Aleph had conical peaks, but that mountain had a flat peak if I remember correctly |

I believe they show Mt Aleph at some point ingame, and it has lava and stuff around it. Also, if you recall, the seagull at the beginning? flies AWAY from the airship, ACROSS the ocean, and to the little lookout point area thing. My guess is that they were either placing one of their little psynergy vortex machines, possibly a receiver for the one we see ingame, or that it was one of their bases and the pod was going down to maybe pick up Blados and Chalis, iiunno. As well, if he could have learned warp from them, who says they couldn't have learned it from him? Of course, neither of these points invalidates the theory; he could very well have learned the warp psynergy from them, and they may very well have rescued him long before the events of Dark Dawn. They do have a fortress airship, after all. |
