I believe it was stated in some prerelease articles that the Warriors of Vale are hated by many. But...that really didn't happen. Outside of Patcher's Place, no one talked about them, and only Isaac was mentioned at all IIRC (well, by name). It said that Matthew and the others would have to carry the burden, but I also saw no one talk ill of them. I wonder if this was scrapped or just false to begin with?

On a similar note, I also noticed that the three lines of text that we saw shortly after the game was announced in 2009 were scrapped. They didn't appear at all in the intro. It's not unusual to remove things from a game that early in development, though.

Yeah, that is true, but the way the article was worded made me think we'd actually experience it. Why even mention it (especially that the new heroes must carry the burden) if it doesn't happen?

And I'm not really complaining before certain people say it, I just found it odd.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too.

Where were all those Adept haters supposed to be? Everyone we met seemed to love Adepts or be indifferent about them. I thought we'd be seeing masses of Anti-Adepts hating everyone and they would be affected by it... but it didn't happen at all. =/

I agree that it was odd... I hope they make some mentions of the Adept hate in the next game. :\

Given, Ku-Tsung and Ku-Embra hated Adepts, but that that didn't have anything to do with the Warriors of Vale in particular, but instead with jealousy of their abilities similar to the 3 Gladiators in TLA.

But yeah, I was totally expecting more hate from NPCs. Maybe the hate is in the parts of the world we don't get to visit? I doubt it would be in Imil or Kalay, but perhaps in Tolbi/Loho and Bilibin, and perhaps on other continents.

Thanks Poui.

Well, see, the places we visit all were heavily influenced by the 'warriors of vale' in a positive way, and the places we didn't see before had a high amount of history involving positive interactions with adepts, namely in the form of Alchemy Machines which turned that area from a desert into a lush field. Places like Kolima Forest, where Isaac's group saved the day, would have little reason to believe their actions were negative.

And Yamata is basically Izumo, and Izumo has its own adepts, and is highly a place with a mystical culture - and their leaders did seem to really like the 'Warriors of Vale.'

So it's more likely that it's just the locations you visited.

The problem is, most places in the game have a positive feeling towards either Isaac or Felix. Unless Felix's son visits places from Book I – like Kalay or Tolbi or Northern Gondowan – we probably won't get much hate.

You'd think after all the crap that happened to most of the people on the continent after a certain event-that-shall-not-be-named, they'd feel a bit... bitter, really.

The impression I get is that "most people" hating Adepts refers to most people outside Angara. You stay in Angara for most of the game, and the only major settlement you visit outside of Angara is Izumo v2.0--as mentioned, a city of Adepts.

While I think it's safe to assume that some cities elsewhere in the world don't hate Adepts--Garoh, Contigo, and Kibombo, to name a few--there are also quite a few that didn't really have any real positive interaction with any of the Adepts, like Alhafra and Mikasalla.

There's also the possibility that, like most of the other locations that were present in the first two games, the places that were friendly to Felix and co. have mostly fallen or been assimilated into other cultures which aren't so friendly toward Adepts.

This is very possible. Xian moved to the coast and became Tonfan, solidifying back into a rebirth of the old Sana Empire. An entire town was built at the very doorstep of Kolima Village (Saha). Vault and Lunpa both vanished from the map, the former being in the middle of the Goma Highlands Road and the later falling to the Tanglewood. Altin, probably somewhere in the Khiren Mountains or in the slopes leading to them, disappeared or at least we can't reach it at this time, while ancient ruins that suddenly became accessible due to the shifts in the land have been settled since they offer more protection.

I would expect many settlements to be completely abandoned. I wonder about nations that hate adepts though. I doubt they would appreciate the ancient technology of the Jenei, if they hate adepts. If they just hate the Warriors of Vale, though, I can see them using ancient technology.

By the way, anyone wanna bet that the Great Gabomba is an Alchemy Machine? The Wardens in Luna Tower and the Barai Temple both remind me a lot of the spirit of Gabomba. And you have to channel Psynergy through fixed gears and works in the Alchemy Machines, much like the Witch Doctor's psynergy needing to be channeled through the passages in the Gabomba's mouth.

Yeah, of all the locations in TLA, I think Kibombo is the one I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing about the most, partially because of the Great Gabomba and partially because of the loose end there with Akafubu.

^ I like.

More seriously, I'd love to have a Kibombo warrior as a Mars Adept in the next game's party. Unique equipment too. Maybe spears will be added as a weapon group, or be grouped with light blades or a subset of staffs (like Ankhs) or something.

Puelle is obviously the High Empyror. Or maybe the Proxian Elder. I mean, after Obaba...

I know you guys are mostly speaking in jest but I'm pretty sure the High Empyror is an entirely new character. Tuaparang existed before even the Golden Sun event, and just re-emerged after that. I've just been hearing the stupidest candidates for High Empyror from people who are being serious. Even Felix has been suggested. -_- How dumb is that?!

Felix does make some sense, though: he started off working for the "bad guys", and seemed to not care that Weyard would seemingly be destroyed by igniting the lighthouses. He only wanted to save his parents. I'm assuming he didn't know otherwise until he reached Lemuria and heard it from Hydros.

Then Dark Dawn tells us he left after the Golden Sun event and hasn't been seen since. When someone disappears for that long in a video game, chances are good that they're with the bad dudes and will make a dramatic appearance later on. He did the same thing in GS1.

Especially if the High Empyror turns out to be doing these things for a good reason, like the Proxians in GS1. Remember that they, too, seemed like villains with nothing but ill intent until TLA released.

When you think of it like that, Felix actually makes for a fairly possible Empyror. Our dear Arcanus, after all, seems to work for the High Empyror, and he did once state that Felix was incredibly resourceful...enough to work with him again, perhaps?

Or perhaps Felix is one-upping Arcanus and hiding his identity, using Arcanus to achieve his end goals. Chessmaster+.

Arcanus' real name not used to avoid spoilers, even though obvious spoiler is obvious.
