When Matthew first uses Fireball to burn away the plants in Tanglewood, Isaac and Garet immediately comment on how powerful it seemed. They go on to discuss how the dark is evil and dislikes heat and light or whatever, but I think we all know what really caused the unexpected results. Matt obviously inherited the Mars portion of the Golden Sun from Isaac. Which breaks my theory of Garet housing it, unfortunately. Discuss. |

... You mean Tyrell? Edit: Never mind, but... Matthew still can't use Fireball, so, a bit confused here. |

This event happened to me the first time I played, but not the second time, because Garet did the honours, since I didn't immediately use Fireball (there's an entirely different convo). Basically, I highly doubt this. Fire and Light both combat the cold and dark forces, which is a theme throughout the game, one of the few thematic elements that ties into every part of the plot. The "Golden Sun being sent to Isaac's Mars Star" refers to the light beacon of Mars Lighthouse, which spread a bit of the Golden Sun light into each of the 8 Warriors of Vale, as well as into Kraden, and revived the three parents, though whether the parents are immortal as well, or if they just received enough to thwart death itself a single time, I do not know. In any case, the game makes it pretty blatant that the Golden Sun wasn't imbued into Isaac himself, but into the Mars Beacon (which happened to be golden as it rose at first), and imbued a portion of the light into each of the 9 companions. I would guess that this is the force that was pulling Garet's hand as well. |

I like how they force you to use the Brute series. Like another attempt to convince more people to play around with classes and such. Brute series ftw \m/ ...But yeah, he just had Fireball because of the Mars Djinn he had set. Therefore giving him Mars Powers. He shows no signs of having natural Mars power. :c |

Yeah, I guess that does make sense. I've been wondering why everyone around Mars Lighthouse got one-ups. Makes me wonder if that was the real reason the parents were revived, and Camelot just never really explained it too well. I mean, this is the first I've heard of the Mars portion being given to everyone present. |

.... really, HJ? I think it was evident that everyone got some blast of energy there, considering Puelle says "If they had not been adepts, the energy would have passed them by." So everyone, Kraden included (which makes him an Adept, btw), received a portion of the power of whatever was unleashing off Mars Lighthouse, ie. the Golden Sun. That would work, Gwydd, but why would the GS by tied into Mars specifically, and why does the Wise One command Isaac at the beginning of TBS to take the Mars Star out of the bag, does something to it, and then commands Isaac to put it back into the bag without further comment? |

I figured GS had already answered that question: if lighting Venus could restore energy and strength to a pair of defeated Mars Adepts, why couldn't lighting Mars do the same? |

Oh, I always thought that comment was to use the Mars Star like a Scouter, to figure out where the other three were. I guess the Wise One's gambit could have dated back to Sol Sanctum. I didn't think of it like that until you just raised that point now. In any case, the Wise One wouldn't have the Golden Sun light at that time – he would have had to imbue a bit of his own power as a Philosopher's Stone into it then, since the Golden Sun event hadn't occurred yet, and he specifically said that Alex didn't get all of the Golden Sun, but that he had transferred some to Isaac's Mars Star. Perhaps he cast a Psynergy on the star so it wouldn't release all of it's Golden Sun energy, but instead keep it, so that the 12 people on the Lighthouse aerie would receive it. In any case, Isaac wouldn't have the Golden Sun himself (even though that's what I thought it meant for like forever). The Golden Sun seemed to have seemed onto everyone at the Mars Lighthouse aerie. Matthew's golden eyes were from too much exposure to the raw Light of the Apollo Sanctum. |

I also never noticed this golden eye thing. When was that, specifically? |

Right before he and Sveta do that fusion thing. Also if your theory was true, HJ, then Amiti probably would've inherited whatever hax Alex has now, which he doesn't seem to have had :U |

I would assume it's because Matthew's been trying to climb up without the Umbra gear – so he's got too exposed to light. And I'd assume Sveta has it because, even with the Umbra Gear, she's been absorbing the entire party's worth of light psynergy, so they're both flooded with it, and get golden eyes. |
