So, after you beat the game, there's the whole fact that all of the human-born Beastmen in Belinsk are golden now, and keep talking about special powers they all have, a girl outright stating she has the powers of an adept, but with light and not any of the four elements. Discuss? I JUST beat the game and have been roving the forums for speculation and cannot BELIEVE this hasn't been brought up. |

Belinsk was major creepy at the end with the intensity of everyone saying it was a miracle they weren't there and then everyone going and saying 'WE NEED YOU WE NEED YOU' and I can't believe nobody else agrees with me. |

What amazed me is that they actually bro-fisted our ideas of Luna/Sol adepts, even if they retconned them into the GS world in their own way. Way to go Camelot! /o/ |

Yeah, did you not see my "haters gonna hate" topic, Bliss? I gloated about this so much. xD Yeah, I thought their vision of Luna was almost Null/anti-psynergy and Shadow, the same way ours/Draco's conceptions are. Somebody mentioned a kid by the graves being able to talk to the dead, too...? Or hear spirits? |

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. So we have established, in the duality tradition: Venus: plants/rocks Mercury: water/ice Mars: flame/explosion Jupiter: lightning/wind Luna: shadows/null Sol: light/necromancy? |

If you want to go that route, all element. The Tomegathericon classes are almost equally balanced between the four elements. Spirittalking, or whatever talking to the dead would be... an afterlife ability, whatever it is. Pretty neat, actually. |

It's probably just a general beastman ability. Sveta's Spirit Sense Psynergy allows her to communicate with the dead, but she only has it because she's a beastman. Canonically, it's based in Jupiter, but we've already seen examples of Adepts learning basic skills of other elements (Isaac/Garet learning Move, depending on what element you're considering it, Saturos learning Cure, etc.). |

HyrulianJedi's got a point there. I have a feeling that before this all happened, only Tua members were Umbra Clan, and there were no Light Adepts. Light and Dark are not specific elements like the other 4, but the Fundamentals – the absence of all elements for Dark, and the combination of all elements for Light. Notice how the Umbra Gear resists all four elements, in various combinations, while the Golden Sun event required the combination of all the four elements. These two don't have particular relationships with individual forces, or with things like crystals or time or anything, they are powers above and below and beyond the normal elements. I'm really stoked to see where they go with Light and Dark Adepts in GS4. |

Well, Psynergy like Condemn, Curse, Haunt, Call Demon are Venus, and although Call Zombie was Mercury, all three Undead-calling Psynergies are Venus in Dark Dawn... Also Fear Pupper, Thorny Grave/Demon Night and Annihinlation are all Death-y stuff whereas Venus also has Revive, so it seems Venus also embodies Life and Death energy in their purest forms. /shamelesselementpromotion |

I've long believed Death and Dark belong to Venus, whereas Life belongs to Mercury and Light to both Mars* and Jupiter**. *Djinn - Shine, Aurora, Glow **Phaeton's Blade unleash - Light Surge |

What are the angelic feathers of revive, HJ? And Fury's summoning of the dead? And Dire Inferno?I'm of the belief that Sol/Luna aspects exist within each element. I think Sol and Luna may still have their own powers, Gwydd - it's not as simple as all/non. I mean, Shadow Clash is plainly shadows. I was looking at the entry for... Beastpeople, I believe it was. It says that they have abilities that normal Adepts don't have... I think at first glance that referred to Track and stuff, but could it also refer to Sol/Luna themselves? Chalis is a beastperson, and the Umbra Gear is designed for beastpeople... |

I wouldn't call Chalis a beast person by any means. Horns ≠ Beastfolk I would say there's certain traits of the Tuaparang nation/Umbra Clan that give rise to that sort of thing, like how Proxians have scales. Shadows are Darkness. That's a fundamental – the lack of light, in a way that even devours light, like antimatter or a Black Hole. Kraden specifically says "the two fundamentals." I just mean that I doubt there are specific comparisons. And explosions can hardly be called a separate phenomena to fire. However, I do like looking at the various sub-phenomena that the Djinn are spirits of. Spices seem to be something associated with Fire, for good reason. Music seems to fit in with both fire and wind, notably, while scents with wind, and sickness with multiple different elements. |

Yeah, the Djinn stuff is a nice touch. >_> You can have fire without explosions. Explosions without fire, as well, due to pressure. Explosion is an outward force, fire is a burning. They are just strongly linked. I love how you didn't pick at the water/ice one. =P If Chalis isn't a beastperson, why is she wishing for the Umbra Gear, which only beastpeople can wear? >_> |

Oh, Life is certainly present in Venus, too. I believe its a split between Venus and Mercury, like Light. As for Fury, that seemed more like emotion, a trait strongly tied (though not exclusively) to Mars; particularly, anger and rage. Dire Inferno doesn't strike me as anything more than fire, other than the name. |

I definitely see the connection between Venus/Mercury and Light. Really, just look at Crystallux. It's a summon that requires both Venus and Mercury djinn, but the attack is clearly some sort of light based attack. They probably could've used another combination, but those two DO make quite a bit of sense. Another thing is the whole healing aspect. When you think about it, light is usually associated with healing or resurrection (not corpse re-animation or zombies-think water of life). Until TLA, they were the only two who could perform healing moves, and even in TLA it was Jenna, the sister to an earth adept, who could heal.(Off topic for a moment here, but does anyone get a sense that the elements are kind of... merging?). So yes, Jupiter and Mars adepts can now heal, and revive people with the help of djinn, but they aren't really the primary healing types... really, to me, it seems like the only reason Karis can heal is to make the game easier in the beginning. Think about how the first two games started, eh? I am going to stop now because I will not be able to if I keep going. But yeah. Venus+Mercury= something like Light psynergy. Healing, resurrection, purity, life, closeness to benevolent spirits... seems to fit, don't it? |
