I own a DS and a GBA SP (for GB games before GBA) This is the list of games I own DS All Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice games (do not own Edgeworth games as I am not a fan of that character, would I enjoy it even though I dislike the main character?) Hotel Dusk (will try to look for Last Window in Spain, don't want to import just yet) Golden Sun Dark Dawn New Super Mario Bros Mario 64 DS All Advance Wars games for the DS Kirby Super Star Ultra Kirby Canvas Curse Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue and Time Pokemon Pearl and Heart Gold The World Ends With You Nintendogs (got this in my teal DS bundle) GBA (based off my memory and what I have with me at the moment, probably have more somewhere) Mario (the one with Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island, need to find them somewhere, gave to my sister to try to get her into games) All Advance Wars games All fire Emblem games Wario Land 4 Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission Pokemon Ruby and Leaf Green All Golden Sun games Mario Super Star Saga Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland (gave to my sister) *sigh* A certain game that misuses Disney characters in a convoluted storyline GBC: Donkey Kong Country Pokemon Gold and Crystal Super Mario Delux Games I played that I know have a port for the portable systems (based on my memory at the moment): Chrono Trigger FF1, 4, 6 Link to the Past All NES and SNES mainline Mario games Donkey Kong Country 2 (think I should get 3 for the GBA or is it better on VC?) Ok, I am a fan of platformers both 2d and 3d, I much prefer Advance Wars over Fire Emblem, surprisingly I am not such a big fan of RPGs, I find most of them tedious and boring, how I got into Golden Sun I'll never know (but did you know I got recommended GS1 for a plane ride as well?) and occasionally I like stuff like Hotel Dusk. Will be leaving on January 12. Also no damn games that involve Disney characters in a convoluted storyline please. |

*sigh* Due to an auto accident when I was younger I have much difficulty sleeping on vehicles (is a plane considered a vehicle?). |

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Elite Beat Agents or Rhythm Heaven Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow If suggesting an FF game isn't taboo, then FFIV, FFV, and FFVI Drill Dozer Wario Ware (Touched! or DIY) Trauma Center: Under the Knife Super Scribblenauts Mario Kart DS If puzzle games interest you, then: Meteos Picross Polarium Tetris DS |

I actually got into Mega Man very recently with MM9. Is the collection game a good port?
Watches some trailers and reviews: Super Scribblenauts looks nice. |

I'd suggest the MMZ Collection, yeah. As far as I know, it's pretty much just all four of the games directly ported and compiled for the DS. |

Simple has a good list. Professor Layton is also worthwhile, but that can be hit and miss regarding how you are with puzzles. Since you love Ace Attorney, I think it'll be up your alley~ |

Just take a variety of games. WEWY, GSDD, Chain of Memories, and if you're willing to buy a game or two for the road, Disgaea DS or FFTA2. |

Maybe I will consider Layton. Are they storyline based or can I start with any game? Which is the best of them? |

I've only played the first so I can't say what one is a good place to start. You're better off asking Jackal; I think he has all of them. I don't think they're linked from one game to the next though story-wise. |

Robocalypse Castlevania games LoZ games Contra 4 Geometry Wars Mario Kart, obviously. Oh yeah, Yoshi's Island. You know, limiting your options to "good" and "not an rpg" makes it surprisingly difficult to recommend a game for you. |

Of the games you have I reccomend Metroid Fusion and/or Zero Mission and Kirby Super Star Ultra. I'd play through the former from start to finish and then play the latter until I landed. |

I saw Layton mentioned and I seem to be the authority here, so i'll talk for a bit. The Layton games are not entirely connected - One of the characters at the end of Curious Village does become a main character for the next two released, and there's an occasional nod to the other games in the later ones, but other than that, you should be fine. If you're gonna play Trauma Center, btw, start with Under the Knife 2 and not the first one on the DS, if you wanna play that one, get Second Opinion on the Wii. I don't know how you'll find it given that it's five years old, but if you can, Meteos is a darling of a game. I take it with me anytime I travel with the DS. |
