Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

How the 3DS handles 3D imagery? I, and I know I'm not the only one here, can't see in 3D due to having no sight in my left eye, and I would like to know how the 3DS handles the 3D imagery so I know how much of a nuisance playing it will be.

I dunno, but I'm pretty sure there's a slider bar that allows you to turn off the entire 3D function.

Like most 3D things, reports are that you do need two working eyes to process the 3D effects on the 3DS.

It's clever of Nintendo, really. It helps them stop piracy.

*shot a few seconds later when the joke sets in*

That said, Slash is correct, there is the option to disable the 3D feature and to play the games as normal.

Okay, cool. That makes things seem so much better.

Yeah, I knew I'd need two working eyes. It is impossible to produce 3D effects from a flat screen with only one working eye - the best/only way to produce 3D graphics for people like me is virtual reality, to my knowledge. I just wanted to know how it worked, because the old red/blue glasses made terrible quality movies, and the current clear lenses make my eyes hurt for hours after.

The big draw of the console is that it's supposed to provide 3D imagery without the use of glasses, meaning that at this point it's relatively new technology and not something we've seen in use prior to the console (to my knowledge). So it beats me how eye-hurting or painful it might end up being. But, again, they have explicitly stated that you can switch the effect off, so there you go.

On a slightly related note, I heard that the 3DS is bad for children, since apparently the 3D effect can cause problems with their eyes since they aren't fully developed.

A lot of things are bad for children, though. Smoking, for example.

It's not even really the 3-D that is the big deal for me, it's the sheer awesome line-up of games.

First Kid Icarus gets revived for it. Pretty awesome.

Then they make a portable Paper Mario for it. Okay, definitely getting one now.

MEGA MAN LEGENDS [RADIO EDIT]ING 3?!? That just cemented my purchase even more!

And then Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright was announced. It's like they want you not only to buy the 3DS, but to play only a 3DS and shun all your other consoles. o.o;

I've stated time and time again that OoT3DS, while looking awesome, needs to be Super Mario 64 DSfied if I'm going to buy it. Else I can just play the original on N64. Same for Lylat Wars.

Now if it had been Majora's Mask, I would buy it regardless of new content or not. :awe: And I'll wait and see for GS4~ It's nice to have these things officially announced before we celebrate.
