Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

yeah that's about the level I first tried at.

I was lucky to get through the first room. Even at Lv80+ the last sections were so ridiculous I basically ran from every fight because otherwise I'd completely run out of anything to heal with before reaching the final boss. Or maybe it was just that everything had ludicrous HP it took 10+ minutes to finish one battle. And the encounter rate is really high. Maybe both. I can't really remember.

wait what

Lv80+ has hard times with DS Lunar Subterrane?

I'm never going to finish that game.

Only the last sections. The start wasn't all that tough. Though honestly, the last part bored me so much I just wanted to fight the final boss and get it over with. >_>

The DS version is a lot harder I have heard.

EDIT: And now I remember that a lot of people here play by the "If I can't kill it in one hit I need to grind" mentality, so that might be part of it too.
Nah, I don't generally go by that guideline.

But yeah my party ranges between levels 70 and 80 at this point, and I'm doing the Lair of the Father or whatever before I head to the Lunar Subterrane.

Hey. Jackal, I bet you never fought Kim, Chi, and Anise on Hell's Finest, did you? You don't know true terror until then.
That was a [radio edit] to play through. Second only to Tsukikage though. :\

I like difficulty in games when it's justified, and I can stomach Nintendo Hard when it's done right. If I still can't jump through a certain hoop without slaving over the game learning the exact movements and timing of jumping that specific hoop, for hours on end, then that's where my patience runs a little thin.

Sadly, I have not played enough games that are OMFGBBQ hard to know exactly where that line is drawn. I've enjoyed games like Megaman Zero, Castlevania RoB, and Prinny to know that hard platformers can be overcome and that the payoff is worth it. Tactical games like FE10 and Advance Wars are also things I've found to be worth the brainpower I put in them.

Wheey! I've became a human being!! I am very handsam!

I've actually beaten Super Mario Frustration. No savestates except at the beginning of the levels.

Though it was after watching that video so I knew what to do in the first two levels at least.

King Koopa has never had level designers of this quality

No wonder why so many people here hate grinding, they're doing it when they don't even need to :U

Level grinding is a habit of mine. It's like a narrow-minded sandbox mentality that grabs hold of me when I hit a roadblock in an RPG.

Grinding isnīt so bad as long as you do it in small doses. Beaten one area? Stay a while and go up a level or two before moving on; ithe extra levels all pay off in the end.

Itīs also handy for something like DQIX where you have INSUFFICENT FUNDS ALL THE TIME :axecrazy:

Only one where money wasn't a problem for me was DQIV, but only in the fifth chapter.
