*Spoilers* Were you disappointed?

Did the game meet your expectations, or were you disappointed, even if it was only slightly?

I'll admit that this game did disappoint me a little. It's definitely great, but not as good as the first two, and the points of no return are stupid. I also don't like how Himi was just thrown in the game at the last minute, and how terribly easy the game is. The difficulty is definitely my main gripe with it. I also don't like how short the dungeons are, and the final area wasn't even a dungeon. After I finished those four areas at the gate, I was like "Wait, what? I'm at the final battle already?"

My hype quickly died when it was noticed that there's no stats to support psynergy, so it was more or less what I expected. I love the game, don't get me wrong, but I really, REALLY hate a few of its flaws. I've been quite vocal about them, so if you somehow don't know what they are, go to like, any other topic to find out.

I was slightly disappointed, but I still love the game nonetheless. My main gripes are that it was way too easy, both battle and puzzle wise (except for a few). The PONR are annoying, since I missed one Djinni. And I just thought it was really short, even though my first run through was 24-25 hours, but I think it's because the plot went back to where it was before basically.

I don't see why people complain about the difficulty.

I mean, Broken Seal and TLA were incredibly easy.

This game is noticeably easier, though. I didn't think it was possible to make the GS series any easier, but apparently it was.

Slightly disappointed, yes, but it gives me hope that they could rectify the series' shortcomings in the next installment. Also the plot kinda feels half-assed and rushed. Like they made it up as they went along. That's what I felt anyway. =/ I mean, sure, GS1 and 2's plot was hardly spectacular, but...

Plus it was pretty damn poorly written at times. However, it's a very fun game overall. I should stop letting negatives get me down so much.

Yeah, the plot was pretty lame up until the last 20% of the game. All of that for a feather to repair a machine that Tyrell broke? Really? And then we don't even get to see it happen, and I'm assuming it won't since it's possible the sequel will take off right where DD ended. Probably not, but it's possible.

I don't know what it is, exactly, but this game doesn't quite feel right. It's missing something aside from an engaging story, I'm just not sure what.

I think that the sequel will probably start off on another part of Weyard, focusing on Felix's kid, and getting to Angara post-Dark Dawn plotline will be part of that game's plot, and it'll cover what happens after Dark Dawn, and tie up some loose ends.

Or something like that, you get what I'm saying.

Yeah, that seems pretty plausible. As long as it doesn't take 80% of the game for the plot to finally pick up, I'll be cool with it.

And please Camelot, make the game harder.

Yes. Crank up every enemy's stats by a lot, make their attacks stronger, make more AoE attacks, lower the Experience gain by a very large margin, increase encounter rates (but not so much they get tedious and outbalance the Exp decrease), remove Points of No Return, give us an explanation as to why there's so much new "ancient" stuff we never ever HEAR about in the first two Golden Suns, and give us more optional bosses that are hard but not by using incredibly cheap tactics. Also, like Role says, give characters more unique classes to fit their roles as fighters.

Wouldn't that be just like the perfect Golden Sun?

Thanks Poui.

Bloody hell, no I was not disappointed. The game was about as good as Broken Seal, which is all it needs to be, since it left off halfway through the plot. I mean, nothing's resolved, BUT WAS ANYTHING RESOLVED AFTER BROKEN SEAL? NO.

Quit your mindless griping, PLEASE.

That might end up with sixteen-ish playable characters from one (roughly the same) generation @_@

I thought it was a bit easy, yeah, and it's obvious stuff needs tying up. That's alright to me, though. I suppose I would have liked to see more new things in terms of the psynergy/equipment/classes, and maybe some explanations about the ancient things? Puzzles in dungeons could have been more engaging and longer, too. But ah well, it's still a good game.

Mindless? Dark Dawn is a very good game to be sure, but there's no sense hiding from the fact it does have some pretty deep flaws as a game in its own right. I don't think it's mindless to want them to right the wrongs in the next game. Which I hope they do.

Giraffes are adorable.

I hope they bring back all the Dark Dawn playable characters. Some characters need more of a spotlight like Himi for instance.

This. Himi and Eoleo need some more development (and where the hell was Chaucha? Scenes with Chaucha could've been a great way to give Eoleo some development.) and those who did get development were really likeable and would be great to see as returning characters.

Also, regarding the 16 playable character thing, yeah I did worry about that, but a good compromise could be that only 8 characters could stay in the active team at one time, and the others would be inactive totally that could be switched with the 8 in your active party.

Sorta of like they did in FFVI. In that game you can only take 4 at a time and the rest stay on the air ship. Since the Golden Sun games have a ship of their own, they can also follow that approach.

(Really wants to have Sveta playable again)

It isn't mindless. There's no need to be an apologist. There is also absolutely no guarantee we're even going to get a sequel. Remember what Camelot said recently? Something like "we have no plans for a sequel yet, but if this one sells well, maybe". Seriously, can't a person point out a game's flaws without someone jumping on the "OMG STOP HATIN" bandwagon?

Yep, exactly like that. I think it's a fair compromise, and allows for unique teams. Which would be even furthered if characters got unique alternate classes. :)

I don't know how Sveta and the other royalty people will be returning, most of them during the time period of DD are all becoming the rulers around their. A ruler can't simply leave the country by itself.

Although i'm not against it, I would enjoy seeing Sveta and the rest of them, but I have to point out the things preventing that from happening.
