I'm using Pokesav to create a team only for lolz. But I would never use them competitively. |

Wouldn't a simulator be better for competitive anyways? |

Bleh, simulators. What's the damn point if you don't put the time in and raise them yourself? "Oh look at me I can enter 31/31/31/31/31/31 and 252/252/4 and pick out the best moveset in like 10 seconds herpy derp!" I do not like simulators as you can guess. |

They do help if all you want are battles, due to their random battle function being infinitely better than Black/White's one. Also, the "best" movesets aren't actually the best (Unless the poke's movepool is so shallow it only allows one moveset with small variations at best, like Wobb). The best would be new and creative movesets that are both reliable and unpredictable. At least, that would be what i think. |

Yep. Too bad it's only 3v3 single battles and all Lv51+ pokes get leveled down to Lv50 (Ok, the last one is more of a nitpick. I like to see the "Lv100" text). I would have loved random 6v6 singles, rotations or triples. Edited by Kula Diamond, Dec 16 2010, 07:26 PM.

On the bright side, that means i could Pokeshift all of my Emerald Battle Frontier team when i finally get around finishing it, tweak it and use it for the random battle if i ever get wi-fi. EDIT: DERP I KEEP FORGETTING PART OF THE POST |

Wait, you can still shift from R/S/E/FR/LG? I thought they completely killed backwards compatibility with B/W? |

So, what are your thoughts on the change in the attack/special attack system from the third gen to the fourth? I think it made a lot of species more useful, like Gyarados, but also made some less powerful, like Sceptile. |

Pretty much a mixed bag really. Some pokes really liked the boost (Like Sneasel and its evo), but others got really hit by it (Alakazam still misses the Elemental Punches). |

So is it at all possible to transfer from D/P/Pt/HG/SS then? Cause I already put all my half decent shit onto Diamond then shifted it to HG when they respectively first came out |

As long as you can get it in a Gen4 game, you can shift to a Gen5 game as long as the game regions are the same (As in, a JP Gen5 game can only get pokes from a JP Gen4 game, an US Gen5 game can only get pokes from an US Gen4 game, etc). |

Well that's a major relief. I'd heard they completely cut off backwards compatibility, glad to learn otherwise. |

I just use the Pokemon I like :U I also avoid having a type repeated across multiple 'mons, and tend to not use the Normal type (I love my Tauros in SS though /o/). I'll try for good personalities, although I'll settle for neutral ones since I'm not patient, and I don't bother with EV training/IVs :U All that being said, I don't really like purely defensive 'mons. I can work with Steelix because it has decent attack on top of it's defense, but 'mons like Wobbafett are boring to me. Basically as long as I can kill the Battle Frontier I'm good. |

I use Pokémon I like in interesting combinations. Right now, I'm keeping my HG team a secret for the tourney. But yeah. I never IV. Of course, if I was emulating, I would have perfect IVs. But the real games? IVs are too much effort. And EV training is more effort than I'm currently willing to give Pokémon. |

To be honest, if you have D/P(Not sure on Pt), EV training Speed and HP becomes a matter of minutes, because of the 6 Magikarp guy and the 5 Bidoof girl. |

Pandora and Prometheus are freakin' win names. Just saying. Overall, though it did nerf a few Pokemon, I'd say the Physical/Special split is probably the #1 best addition to the mechanics the series has seen thus far. |
