First, a compilation was announced for FFIV, which contains an enhanced port of FFIV, along with its sequel, The After Years: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/12/13/ffiv_compilation_psp/ There will also be a new scenario that links the two games together. I might end up getting this... Secondly, Chrono Cross coming to PSN, *finally*: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/12/13/chrono_cross_game_archives/ If CC makes it to the US, I will be a happy man. |

*adds another tick in the tally of things I post about in the shoutbox way before anyone makes a topic* But this time I thought it was so stupid that it didn't deserve a topic. They really need to stop rereleasing 1&2 and 4 over and over and over and over and over and over again (each of those "over"s represents an actual re-release of FFIV) and And watch, this version of FFIV will have neither the addon content from FFIV GBA nor the addon content of FFIV DS. "Final Fantasy IV Compilation" should be a compilation of all the versions of Final Fantasy IV imo "yay" about Chrono Cross coming to PSN finally though |

I'm 90% sure that this enhanced port is actually the lesser-known mobile phone port which was made shortly after TAY came out on the Wii. It had enhanced sprites (and maybe sharper graphics, not sure), and a new dungeon(s). Very few people know about it though, and it only came out in Japan. Yes, FFIV has been ported waaay too many times. But TAY being ported to the PSP, with possible added content aside from the scenario that will take place between both games, almost has me sold. I'm a sucker. |

That's great and all, but come back when Xenogears and Legend of Dragoon get announced for PSN. I'll be interested then. |

I freaking love DQVI and I'm waiting impatiently for the port... the first time the game will be officially released in English. I think that's worth more than the same goddamn games over and over and over again. Seriously, I am so tired of Square Enix. They just release the same stuff over and over again then get pissy when their new stuff is utterly mediocre or downright bad. They're clinging to their glory days like this because they seem to have lost the power to actually do anything really interesting. I will say Chrono Cross is a good move, one I can definitely get behind... but why not make a boatload of money by developing Chrono Break at long last and making it excellent? Why not give FFXIV another year or so of development rather than rushing it and effectively killing your MMO faster than you can say "Sure, it's pretty, but it's not WoW", forcing yourselves to lay off staff and pretty much redesign the game's direction months after the launch? It didn't work for Star Wars Galaxies, it sure won't work for FFXIV. And another th- actually no I'll just stop the rant there before I get too vitriolic. In summary: very much over FFIV, even if it was once a good game before it got whored out. But it's good to see Chrono Cross getting some love. Now dammit Squeenix can we get some new and good games for once? |

I retract my statement then, TWEWY was awesome. But it and DQIX have been the only exceptions for a while, really. |

It's not like it's an uncommon sentiment. FFIV has been released more separate times than some series have separate games. Not that I've played FFVI, but I'll take Capcom Sequel Stagnation over the same game over and over and over and over and over and over and over I mean really. Also, *jumps on the DQVI for America bandwagon* |
