Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

I think Wind Waker definitely gives this game's intro competition (or the other way around >_>). I'm not sure if it's seven minutes, but if not, then it's close.

They did go a bit overboard with it.

did anyone else think the game felt like a tutorial for too long?

No. What do you mean?
They seemed to be explaining simple things for a very long time. Plus, the whole mandatory Psynergy training grounds. We'd already gotten the hang of psynergy in the forest with Isaac and Garet.

This. Plus the opening told us about stuff for ages that it could easily have told us in 10 times less words :c

It's not until about Konpa Ruins the game gets good imo. Sure, the Psynergy Training Grounds were fun first time around, but it'd be nice to not have to do it everytime. Twice (if you want the WoL) :x

I agree with Kyarorain. There should be a skip button. I think the reason there isn't is because the Tuaparang airship is part of the present game and not the previous. If you recall, the intros to the previous 2 didn't have anything scene-wise but a story summary.
