It blantantly screams "THIS GAME IS GOING TO HAVE A SEQUEL" so much it can't even be considered a cliffhanger.

It better have a sequel, with that one guy disappearing with only "don't to that" to say goodbye! Hopefully they don't take as long to make sequels as Blizzard does.
That said, I really liked the ending. Fading out with just that noise was a great design choice, very ominous and awesome.

And you just know that's all Matthew Co's fault for taking so [Radio Edit]ing long to get that feather.

Luna clan? Moar liek Umbra clan, M I RITE?

Well too bad about templeverse, anyone with a zol mine and wind psyenergy can have airships now, instead of the extremely limited stuff in FC. Jossed by Canon!

Also uhh no one explained all the Light around Apollo sanctum. I mean what, it's not even close to the golden sun. Why all the light?

In Greek mythology, Apollo was a sun god (not to be confused with the Titan Helius, who WAS the sun). The sanctum was supposed to channel and amplify light, and possibly had some mechanic that helped it avoid the eclipse. Since Luna Tower sucked in and absorbed light, it's also possible that Apollo Sanctum stored light as well, just in a less harmful manner.

Possible that the light from luna tower was channeled to apollo tower?

Maybe. Either way that is one powerful Dr. OCTAGONAPUS there. Thanks to weyard being flat, that cannon could reach the end of the world!

Gorram. I love this game. I do. But it didn't ACCOMPLISH anything. It didn't answer any old questions, it didn't even answer any new questions it posed by itself. It's like an episode of LOST on Weyard.

I highly doubt Luna Tower would channel its light to Apollo Sanctum. The Sanctum was built after the tower as a way to speed up the Grave Eclipse. Its entire purpose was to fill the tower with so much light that it couldn't absorb anymore, so the Eclipse would end. Taking light from the tower would be like pouring water into a bucket with a hole in the bottom.

I'd give you this, except it didn't matter. He didn't even reveal half a motive. I've seen speculation that the Eclipse Tower might give off some special psynergy to those involved, or maybe the Apollo Lens does which are fine theories, but you'd think the game might've at least hinted at it. He basically did it "just because".

On the other hand, the best theory I've heard is that whatever they needed the Eclipse tower to do, it wasn't about killing people. The Eclipse tower carries out it's function after being filled with so much light, and Alex being a monster but not a COMPLETE monster doesn't want EVERYBODY dead, so goes to turn on the Apollo Lens. It still fills it up with light, it just speeds it along.

Also, not spoiled because the topic title says both "ending" and "spoilers"

Makes me wonder, though... what does the Umbra Clan want exactly? And will we ever actually get to SEE dark psynergy?

I guess we saw "dark" psynergy in action when they corrupted the puppy king, and a few of the spells he used. I don't remember the names of the spells, but they were similar to what the Doom Dragon used, just with an evil flair.

I agree with Bane. There was just a bit too much left unexplained, even if there's a sequel. The ending didn't feel satisfying. As the credits were rolling, I was freaking out, wondering about tons of things, and then the whole Matthew-points-to-the-vortex scene happened, with the The End? screen... it went overboard in terms of saving things for the sequel.

On the plus, next game is gonna be EPIC, no doubt. I can't wait to go to Kalay and Gondowan.

Is it not obvious? They want the Apollo lens. A weapon with that firepower could bring weyard to its knees.

Though they had an intended target in mind... perhaps Anemos? Or the Mourning Moon?

As an aside I'll bet this sure got Anemos' attention. Someone shoved the moon and them around!

Alright, I just beat the game, so here are my thoughts.

I mean...what. There are so many things left unexplained. For one thing, why did Alex want to activate the Eclipse, only to supposedly tell Unan (I think it was) to give your party the orb? Yes, it could've been Piers, but an NPC says "Why don't you have your mask on this time?". Alex has a mask, and I seriously doubt Piers does. Also, this is Alex we're talking about; his motives have always been confusing/unclear, and this game is no exception. This also gives us even more evidence that Amiti is his son. Then, after you beat the last boss, Alex tells Matthew to not activate the lens... Why? Isn't that exactly what he wanted? For that matter, why did he go through the trouble of activating it, only to want it deactivated shortly after, but THEN telling Matthew not to do it? And what happened to Blados and Chalis? Will we see them again? Are they actually evil? What happens to Matthew and co.? What happened to Isaac and Garet; is it possible they got "absorbed" by the Psynergy vortex? We better get a sequel; there are so many things left unresolved.

I think he told Matthew "you don't want to do that" because the light at the controls would kill him. Alex probably knew about the giantwtf vortex, and knew Matthew Co would need to fix it. He's weird like that.
