How's the game, players? Amazing, or not what you expected? How does it measure up to the first two? Was the 7 year wait worth it?

I loved its dungeon puzzles (Leo is a fire sign), dynamic cutscenes were impressive, the djinn-cyclopedia is awesome even when I could barely understand half of its Japanese...

Worth the wait in my opinion.

I'm not too far into the game, but so far it's pretty fun. As for whether or not it lives up to the hype, I really can't say until I get further. Same for the GS1/2 comparison. It still looks, feels, and plays like Golden Sun, but I've barely scratched the surface of the story, it seems.

The pure nostalgia alone it's generating makes it worth it, and it's a good game on its own merits from my experience so far.

I love the detail in these new places... Especially when you get further in the game, learning about ancient Weyard... I just wish we could post what we learn on GS Universe... DX Then I don't have to run back somewhere to remember...

I thought the Wiki was open for edits and such? GSU IS the Wiki, right? It's the link I always click way down at the bottom n'all <.<

*must wait until Christmas* Q_Q

So now that many people have finished the game I'd like to pose this question again. What is the verdict? I've heard its a solid game but I'm more interested in hearing how it stacks up to the first two games, which definitely set the bar high. Sorry, but I don't want to delve into any spoiler threads for this and I won't be getting the game until Christmas, not that I'd have time to play it right now with finals and all.

Thanks Poui.

As an RPG it stands well on its own, as a Golden Sun game it gets a bit wtf-ish with some of the revealed in DD stuff since there are a few inconsistencies, but overall imo the sheer nostalgia makes it worth it; it definitely FEELS like a golden Sun game. I've not finished it, though.

My verdict?

We've got the fanservice game done. Now it's time to tackle the problems with the game. In the next one, do TRY not to make psynergy even more worthless. As each game goes on, psynergy gets more and more pathetic.

First game, it's static compared to the dynamic unleashes and EPAs. It gets left behind at later levels.
Second game, it's now up against WTFHAX powered unleashes that pretty much can be rigged to ALWAYS GO OFF.
Third game. SAID UNLEASHES NOW TARGET MULTIPLE FOES, TOO. Weapons also GAIN MORE ATTACK POWER as you master them.

What's next? In the next game, will all bosses take half damage from psynergy due to being dark adepts or something? Will they find YET ANOTHER REASON to make this supposedly powerful psynergy even more pathetic? Or will they give it the stats and mechanics it deserves? Seriously, Camelot. Base damage sucks.

Second thing that needs to be fixed. CLASSES. GOOD GOD, CLASSES. Sveta would have been awesome, IF SHE DIDN'T SUFFER FROM PIERS SYNDROME. Himi is broken for the same reasons - she benefits from Jenna Syndrome! Enough of this bullshit! My fighters shouldn't be stuck with caster classes! My casters shouldn't be granted (OR NEED) fighter classes!

They need to stop this "Warm elements are physical, Cool elements are magical" bullshit. Base the classes on the team's layout. In Team Royals, Venus and Mercury djinn should have given more caster oriented classes. Jupiter and Mars should have granted more Fighter oriental classes. AND DAMMIT, DON'T JUST GIVE THE CHARACTERS KNOCKOFF CLASSES! Eoleo should NOT have been just a Fire User with EPAs! Amiti had NO BUSINESS having a physical base class, especially one that's a blatant ripoff of Piers!

Put some effort into it. If the GSHC can pull it off, surely you're capable of it as well!
