While I acknowledge your point on humans as being true, I don't think I buy realistic models as being less interesting. Pixar is so well renowned because they go to outstanding levels to try and make things look real. They wrote the program to create the texture of Sully's hair in Monsters Inc, it didn't exist before then. They glossed frames in Finding Nemo to resemble being under water and that luminescent feeling. Wall-E is chalk-full of textures to make realistic-looking bath-tubs and rusted metal patches, And then we get McBlubber and Mrs. No-feet. The only movie I've been able to tolerate it in was The Incredible, but that had more to do with Edna and the direct play on the dad's size relative to the world than anything else. Pixar's great so long as humans stay off-camera. As soon as they come in, I get frustrated because they've either damaged the world they've created with human invaders, or just decided to throw the anatomy textbook out the window. Exceptions: Monsters Inc., for only having one human, a toddler, and they're sort of out of proportion anyways. Toy Story 1-3, for having humans that look like humans. And I loved Andy's hair in the third movie btw. The Incredibles (barely) for out-right mocking the mis-proportioned dad and Edna. Because Enda = <3 |

Pixar is great, although its stories have similarities with other stories so striking so as to be very suspicious. |

I enjoyed Cars, though I agree with Metacritic when I say that it's their worst film. And if I enjoy their worst film, that's got to say something about the quality of their work. That said, I saw the trailer for Cars 2 a while back and just... wanted to leave the cinema right there, and the movie I went to see hadn't even started yet. I seriously hope they're trying for refuge in audacity because seriously what the hell is that shit. Normally I trust Pixar but really, not sure if want. |

Then why go for any type of art at all? It's all the same thing, right? :U I'm not saying the movies aren't the good. They are; I like them. I'm not dissing the movies, so chill. |

Heh. I was being tongue-in-cheek, my friend. You really think I'm calling you an idiot? I, personally, don't see that whole "exactly the same as other shit" thing. |

Pixar has a history of "if it's nominated, it wins" because they have so many good movies, but I feel like this year was a bit of an ass-pull. Toy Story 3 < How to Train your Dragon |

Tough call on that one for me, because I loved both equally. I'd probably only pick Toy Story 3 because it did a fantastic job of tugging on my heart strings right at the end. |

don't speak to me again any case, I'm sort of neutral towards PIXAR, in that I was painfully in love with WALL-E, Monsters Inc., and all the Toy Story movies, and then Cars, Ratatouille, and the Incredibles happened, and...eh... and I am also excited for Brave! It looks like it should be great. :3 |

Up was too weird for me. The beginning was beautiful and heart breaking and wow but once the dogs came into the story I was so turned off. |

Hell yeah Pixar movies! It's been a while since I've seen any (except TS3, but who hasn't seen that yet?), but I can't choose a fav. All are pretty equal in my books. Except for the ones I've yet to see like, Cars, UP, Rattatouliel (however the hell you spell that), and... I haven't even heard of that new movie, Brave... |
