Get some concrete details, and I'll add you to the list, Jackal. So I wanted to run a chick flick night at some point. I'll definitely show Legally Blonde the musical and She's the Man, but does anyone else have any favorite girly movies that can be found on Youtube? Oh, and if someone can find Legally Blonde the movie on Youtube for us, that would be awesome. Or Mean Girls or something. I'd totally show Easy A, but obviously that's not even out on DVD yet.

Yes, everyone go watch! Make movie night a success! Also, full movie line-up for chick flick movie night decided: Clueless, She's the Man, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Legally Blonde the musical. Considering December 23 or 26 for the date. Sound off on which yinz would prefer, or other dates.

Bumping because, no Christmas movie night? =[ (yeah I realize it's a bit late to plan one, but I'd sort of been taking it for granted that one would be run so now I'm sad D: even if I can't really join in on these) |

Anyone's free to host one tomorrow, after all. Or on Saturday. I just can't, 'cause I have a very structured Christmas.

COMING TO A MOVIE NIGHT NEAR YOU AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE: HINOA'S MOVIE NIGHT OF NUCLEAR FUN, FEATURING THREE MOVIES ABOUT NUCLEAR WAR. And none of them are The Day After!![]() First of all, we've got WarGames, from 1983. It's about a hacker that gets into NORAD and almost starts World War III. Yes, in 1983, long before just anyone could get on the Internet. I've never actually seen it myself, but apparently it's good. *shrug* ![]() Next up is Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. It's old! It's in black and white! It deals with things that haven't been relevant for 20 years! It's also incredibly funny, if you're into dark humor, and it's one of my favorite movies of all time. In short: a rogue general decides to cut off contact with the rest of the United States and nuke the Soviets. Hilarity ensues. ![]() Lastly, and I'll admit this is stretching the theme a little bit, is the Fist of the North Star movie. It's the somewhat inferior version - the TV series is a bit better - but it's still FotNS, and therefore awesome. In summary: After the end of the world, a man with nothing to lose becomes the biggest badass ever. I don't have a definite date for this, but I'd like to do it sometime in the near future - end of January at the latest. I'll give more details later! |

Wargames is alright for an 80s movie, as far as I can remember from watching it in 9th grade. Apparently it was nominated for several Academy Awards. |
