Theoretically, this means that the next relevant thing might have something to do with Kat's as-yet-unexplored strange spirit form that Z finds so utterly horrifying and alien (she who's seen some shit), and we've seen a lot of covers in chapters that have set Kat and Antimony in contrast, one as a forest-creature and one as a city creature, but we haven't seen anything in the contents so far that sets them in opposition. And Jeanne is guarding the river, is she not? Against passage? And that is tied explicitly into Kat's heritage as the "new creator." There must be some kind of link there. I wonder if the endgame of this story will see Antimony and Kat in irresolvable conflict somehow.
