You know, I really enjoy the what/how distinction. It resonates a lot with ideas of what's spiritually or mythically true vs. what is physically true. A kind of turn around "as if." She didn't really spend 100 years with the warriors, but with how she embraced their culture it's as if she did. She didn't really unify two moons, but with how she tries to bring together the Forest and the Court it's as if she did. She didn't really listen to every creature in the forest, but that's what she stands for. There's a "myth logic" to this that's very true to Native conceptions of spirituality/myth, and that's something that's true of pretty much most/all myths, I'd venture to say. That it's not the mechanics or details of something, but what it means for the people living today. And all this is being built up as what Annie means for the people of the forest. It will be a lot for Annie herself to live up to, and a lot of expectations placed on her shoulders. I imagine something's going to go wrong with that. |

He seems to be somewhere between large bunny and really short person. The dude dancing next to him is the same guy from a few pages ago and his height relative to the bunny seems to have been mostly consistent. Maybe it's just weird fairy folk shenanigans.

Yeah, me too. Also Paz with the super action girl stuff going on here. But yeah realtalk, I always missed 2D Shadow, because he didn't look like some miscreant thug in that hoodie and baggy sweatpants -- it was less archetypal or universal. But now it's like "dang yo" shadow bird/angels |

putting in my prediction: Kat's parents have some inkling of what Kat is (whatever that is) and forbid her from going to the Forest because if Coyote saw her spirit form, he'd go apeshit hostile or something like that or she's otherwise inherently dangerous to the forest |
