Offhand comment led me to reread two previous chapters, starting from here. There is a lot in this story that I've forgotten, just because it's been so many years. I definitely should read it start to finish sometime. |

Thanks Poui.

Coyote chapters are some of my favorites. Mostly because Coyote himself is a character I don't have any kind of trust in. |

coyote fucking shit up, obvs tl;dr seems to be that Coyote was playing the long-game and waiting for Annie to successfully send Jeanne along to the afterlife, and now he's going to spring Ysengrim to take advantage of that by manipulating his memories (and has been doing so for a long time) |

Forget about Coyote being fucked up, Ysengrin is all sorts of fucked up. |

So, is this animal posturing or a radical spinal adjustment? My vote goes to posturing. |

I think this might be/probably is a ploy from Coyote. We've seen before that he can compel Ysengrin to attack Annie, so I think it's probable that here, along with the strength, he compelled him to attack Coyote. It wouldn't be too out there for a trickster god to play dead/be unable to stop Ysengrin is his subsequent rampage. |
