I think a lot of what the fantasy here did was humanize Jeanne as a person for the reader and have her be sympathetic, before reverting back to the 'ghost' form. But at this point, I think it's better to continue with that humanization. Either that or Jeanne herself is so flabbergasted she just had to stop attacking to question reality
