Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

How can there not be a Fallout: New Vegas topic on this board?; I'm disappointed in all of you.

I simply can't believe it. Have linear, repetitive JRPGs corroded your brains to the point where you can no longer appreciate the open-world majesty that is the Fallout series? Surely one or two of you must have played New Vegas, or I have no faith left in this Temple. I am prepared to give FNV my Game of the Year endorsement even if Dark Dawn comes bundled with a Karis love pillow stuffed with cocaine.

Discuss it here.

(By the way, for those of you who have the PC version, I spent a weekend reverse-engineering the save and module file formats and wrote a neat little utility that lets you import your Fallout 3 character as an NPC follower in New Vegas. Check it out if you're interested.)

Well, nobody likes FO3 besides me, you and Shads so yeah. I WANT to buy this game but I currently have no money.

And yeah, it looks pretty cool, can't wait to play hardcore mode.

This is false. Elvashar and I also like FO3

Unfortunately, I don't have the money for either game.

While my personal ethics prevent me from advocating software piracy, I will point out for the sake of diversity that it is entirely acceptable in some cultures. Hint hint.

Yeah, I've been hearing that NV is pretty buggy, but I managed to play through the entire game (both NCR and independent questlines, plus all sidequests) without encountering a single glitch. I know there are some fan-made patches out there that are supposed to address the sleep/wait issue, though. (I'm hoping that for Fallout 4 they switch engines to something other than Gamebryo - now that Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax has purchased iD Software, I'm just about creaming my panties over the possibility of a Fallout using one of their engines)

Hardcore mode is a nice feature (the first FO3 mod I wrote added something similar) but I wish they'd done something more interesting with injuries than just requiring a doctor's bag to fix crippled limbs. Maybe one out of twenty bullets that hits you strikes something vital, and after combat you've got to play a little surgical minigame akin to the lockpicking or hacking ones, requiring a specific Medicine skill for each type of injury, with a temporary debuff as the penalty for failure. Would certainly add to the survivalist feeling.

Thanks Poui.

And also Iskveda and myself, on Fallout 3.

I'm planning ong etting New Vegas but have yet to be able to decide spending money on it is worth my time as I only have access to an XBOX once a week and my puny laptop cannot handle the girth of a game such as New Vegas.

Adachi is not amused.

I'm a massive Fallout fan, I've told everyone this. However, because I didn't quite get into FO3 as much as the earlier 2, I suppose you all passed me by. No big, because I bought New Vegas and have been steadily playing through it. It's a great deal of fun as the games tend to be - I love the setting, love the world, and I'm having a blast.

There's just two problems:

-Despite it being new areas and plot and all that, it's still basically just FO3: Again. That said, the addition of Hardcore mode is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
-As Jackal has said, the game is as buggy as an ant's nest. That's being invaded by bees. That are being ridden by cockroaches. I'm impressed that you got through the entire main plot without issues because it didn't even take me an hour before I couldn't rest, couldn't use VATS, and was really struggling.

Other than that, though, good fun. It's funny how much I made my character look like me.

I loved FO3. On my old gamertag I believe it was the game I had the highest gamerscore for, would have gone on and put in the effort to make it full gamerscore were it not for the fact that 1. [radio edit]ing. steel. ingot. glitched. 99/100, the other disappeared off the face of the planet. I was and am pissed about that, and stopped trying for full gs as soon as it happened.

Haven't really delved much into NV yet, have had too many other recent purchases distracting me from it (DQIX/Fable 3/RB3/Black Ops/random arcade games), will probably make some progress on it tonight seeing as this topic so nicely reminded me and all. Cheers.

If I wanted to play an MMO I'd play one of the 9000 ones out there. One of the biggest draws they have over Fallout is that they have other players.

Sometimes I can't use VATS and sometimes I can't even shoot. Though I've noticed that I'm suffering from Stimpack sickness when this happens, I doubt if it's related because it never happened before when I did have Stimpack sickness.

One other thing annoys me...when I'm TRYING to get some sleep...barely an hour or two in...doesn't matter WHERE I sleep.

Victor: WELL HOWDY PARTNER!

Me: HOLY! -falls off chair and drops controller-

You'd think I'd know better and expect this to happen from now on. Nope.png

Still caught off guard to this day.
