Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.

Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

TLA tried to remedy this by uneven djinn distribution. Those players countered by leaving mercury djinn in standby until Piers showed up.
Bahaha, I remember doing this.

Another one for me is that with the exception of Isaac/Felix and Ivan/Sheba, the base classes are unique. I mean yeah, Planetary is cool and all, but when I can have half of the cast be Chaos Lords, it's not as fun. I'd like it better if each character had their own class tree :U

As it stands, I love things like Liquifier on Garet; it's awesome because "hey, it's HIS special skill, not anyone else's." Also I hate changing Piers' class, because Piers syndrome.

I'll play some stretches – especially early ones – with Base Classes, and probably play other stretches with mixed Djinn. It's too much fun not to experiment around and see what's possible, even if it's the first play through.

Well, Boyd, that IS somewhat fixed in Dark Dawn as Himi and Sveta do get some unique alternate classes. But I guess I know what you mean :U

No it's not. Not even close. They only have one new alt-class, meaning that for the most part they fall in the same categories as before.

Of course, Himi's remaining/unaltered mixed classes balance out her natural weaknesses and Sveta's Beast-Form makes a Physical-attacker out of any of her classes (even the Wizard and Dark Mage series)...

Eh, the big problem is the fact that she HAS those weaknesses. It wouldn't be anywhere near as big of a problem if psynergy was actually dynamic and could keep up with the power of physical blows.

When I said weaknesses, I meant statistical ones: Himi's base class gives her a sub-par multiplier to her defense and an awful one to her already low attack, so she relies a lot more on her psynergy and defense buffs than the rest of the party.

I like making her a Swordchick/Dragoon to benefit from the defense multiplier and because her naturally high Max PP makes her shine as a healer (Ply + Wish + Revive) in those classes. And by the way, Ninja!Himi gets her issue with the attack stat solved and as a Apprentice she still works well as a caster...

That's what I meant too. Those wouldn't be too bad if psynergy was fixed - you'd not have to worry about attack since her spells work fine. I hear you with defense, though - that's what alt-classes SHOULD be addressing. But turning a mage into a warrior or a warrior into a mage? That just takes things too far, IMO. You shouldn't have to do that to cover weaknesses.

I'll probably do the same as I usually do, and use bases until I get about 6 of each djinni, then start messing with tri-elementals.

... Well, your opinion is understandable in theory, but I still play Mage-like with Himi even if her current class isn't supossed to (the Apprentice class series seems to be actually designed to give Warriors a Spellsword option, so that one only half-counts), so please take it with ease as it's just a little matter of taste.

Check out my spicy wasabi beats

I didn't use base classes at all. Didn't regret it.
