Or I used to be, anyway. So while digging through my stuff looking for my driver's license, I found a letter that I had received shortly after my high school graduation (two years ago, derp) that apparently got lost in the clutter of me doing...whatever. It was a chaotic day. Anyhow. So the letter I found was written by me, to me, in seventh grade. It was an assignment we did in class for...some reason in which the teacher would keep all the letters and we wouldn't receive them until we graduated. So I read my letter and found myself going "wut." What kind of a loser writes this crap? So apparently I can see that: -I thought using curse words for no reason was awesome or something. -Even back then I was always hungry -Apparently I used to get so bored I tried to argue with myself -[radio edit] those Write Source Books -Rambling isn't a new thing for me -As is forgetting the current topic -E Bay sucks Anyway, my main point here. Did any of you ever find any old stuff you wrote or something and think "man, how was I this stupid?" Reading this was probably the longest time I've spent facepalming at myself :U |

...Wow, I think your younger self wanted to just confuse you or something. XD I can think of one in paticular; in Reception (Kindergarten) we had to draw a picture of a part from Jack and the Beanstalk and then write a sentence about what was happening. Mine was Jack climbing up the beanstalk. The text itself wasn't bad in content; it was the fact that it was little more then insane unreadable scribbling. My teacher even had to write "Jack climbed up the Beanstalk" next to it to clarify what I meant. That might not seem so bad considering I was like, 5, but everyone else could just about write at that age. ;___; Took me till 9 before my handwriting was truly legible and it still sucks now. D: |

So what you're saying, Phoenix, is that my past self is a troll? ...Sounds about right. And did you at least draw it well? |

But my younger self was naive, foolishly idealistic, uncharismatic, and lacked my cunning wit, especially with matters that had anything to do with girls D: And again, yes, screw those Write Source Books. |

I kinda wish I kept a diary as a kid so I could go back and laugh at my younger self's silliness. (“・ω・)つ Best I've got is LJ, but I was already 14 when I started that. D: Now my English teacher did make us all write diaries for awhile in second form (seventh grade) but that's about certainly lost to the ages at this point, so bleh. |

In grade... one, I think? our school did a time capsule thing. Think it's set to be opened in 2020. It wasn't a random letter, though; was a sheet we had to fill out. I am moderately certain mine involved a giraffe and was beautifully illustrated. Also, lolboyd. Yesterday, actually, I went back and read some stuff from about three years ago. Threads on a roleplaying forum. With furries. The idea was to get the furries to breed; needed 25 posts in order to receive the offspring, and had five days to do so. Needless to say, they were a little bit painful. I'm sure young!me thought they were amazingly romantic/sexy/something, though. |

XDDDD Thank you for sharing, Boyd. In second grade, we filled out questionnaires which the teacher copied into a little book for the entire class, so we could go back years later and see our classmate's answers. My sheet has pretty regular answers until this question: In ten years, it will be 2011. I have graduated from high school and am starting off on my life's journey. This is what I predict I will be doing: TAKING OVER THE WORLD! MWAHAHAHAHA! |

I did an assignment like that when I was a freshman or sophomore in high school. I don't think we actually got them back though, at least I don't remember ever seeing mine again. From what I remember it was probably just a bunch of whiny romantic crap anyway. |

Lawls. I am amused. And yeah, I did one of these things in grade four, received it in grade eight, promptly spent the thirty seconds after facepalming. I never kept a proper diary, but I did have sporadic moments of insanity where I would decide I actually had the patience to keep a diary/journal. These spurts of spontaneity usually lasted a few days, and whatever notebook I'd used and quickly discarded would have a few pages' worth of silly stuff. Here's the thing; I would go back if I found the notebook again, and comment on it (mostly to call myself a moron) - sometimes dated, sometimes not - then lose it again. Then, I would find it a few years later and comment again on the stupidity of the entry itself, as well as the past comments. Lose, find, repeat. My "diary entries" look very strange indeed, with multicoloured ink all over them and slight variations in handwriting. I'm fairly certain at some point I decided eye-blinding neon green was a perfect colour to write an entire entry in, as well as comment in. Mruuw, lapse of judgement. Edit: Oh, and pertaining to creative writing... I refuse, I absolutely refuse, to ever read my first fanfiction ever again. Some of my older stuff from around grade one is sort of cute though. |

Oh yeah, I do occasionally look through my old drawing notebooks and such from years ago. Usually when I start getting into "Man, I'm a really terrible artist" moods, I look at them to see that at least I'm not that bad any more. |
