I had to stay up all night studying, so I went outside and read Weber out on a lawn chair on the quad, right under Jupiter and the Moon. It felt kind of surreal, but that might have been because I was deliriously tired. |

Saw it a couple of weeks ago. For those of you who want to know, it's the best at the end of September [this month].

The clouds and fog today are even worse than yesterday and there's no way it will clear by tonight. Hoping it sticks around for a while longer! |

Okay so looking out right now, to the southwest near the horizon there's this freaking bright planet or star or something that's basically glowing. What is that? |

It was in a very different place than where the diagrams said it would be - lol Southern Hemisphere and such - but I saw it in between breaks in the cloud cover. It was an exceptionally bright night, all things considered, but none of the stars shone through the clouds... except the one very solid, bright dot that didn't twinkle or sparkle, just near the moon. It was awesome looking. It's a clearer day tonight so I'll have to look again when it gets dark. |

That's pretty much what it looks like with my glasses on. I think the appeal of seeing Jupiter is knowing ahead of time that it's Jupiter. Otherwise it's just a really bright star. |
