Posts: 17,970 Group: Jupiter Clan Member #169 Joined: April 13, 2007 Blog: Tastes Like Homebrew Country: #0# True Name: Squee Theme Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5KvMSVnafE	So, I've been thinking about this, and it seems to me like each of the kids is intended to parody some kind of Mary Sue archetype found in roleplaying and fanfiction. Jade is the most obvious: she's the Friendly Sue, the one who has kawaii special powers and is loved by everybody, whose only flaws are endearing ones (narcolepsy). She was also raised by an animal that also has special powers. Rose is the Goffik Sue, the one who's snarky and rebellious and wears black all the time, is never fazed by anything, etc. Dave is the Badass Stu, the stoic and mysterious dark stranger in the corner, usually modeled after Aragorn but with a SUPERIOR NIPPON KATANA. John's the most difficult, but after some thought, he seems to me like the Dumb Luck Stu. The character who looks fine to begin with, but then when they actually enter the story, gets so phenomenally lucky that they find all the best equipment, become the strongest, etc.
