Has anyone else heard of Swaptree? It's a website where you post books, games, DVDs, and CDs that you no longer want, and other users can trade you for them. It's free, aside from the cost of shipping items to people you're trading with. I've just signed up, but my sister has used it before and it worked for her. I've seen mostly good reviews, though there is some buyer beware going on. It's mainly run with user feedback to tell you who is safe to trade with. Anyway, I've just put a bunch of books up, and I'm hoping to find some media that I want to add to my collection. You can trade between media types, too, so, like, book for CD or game for DVD or whatever. Here's the site.

I haven't, but I have used Goozex before, which is kind of similar but with video games only (last I checked). Only problem there was that rather than doing direct trades with people, you gave people games they requested and in return earned Goozex points, the amount of which was based on an estimate of how valuable that game is (based on how many people had that game up for offer, average selling price on sites like ebay, demand on-site), so you could end up not getting much back for a trade you send in, though you could also end up paying very little for a game you really wanted. This sounds a little nicer since you can trade anything in return for anything else, not based on any estimated value of the item. |

Of course, you get something in return for what you swap, so you won't decrease the number of items you have, Hin. But maybe you can get discs, which would be more compact?

Looks awesome but I can't give my things away especially video games. I've not sold a game since I was 10 and realized that 94% of film liscensed games will actually be painful to keep in your house my games are my babies and vice versa |

I see what you did there. I doubt I'll get many trades, because most of what I want to offload is political crap from the Bush era, and I don't think that's terribly high-demand anymore. All the same, it's worth a try. Plus, I might actually have a shot at completing my Discworld collection. \o/ |

Oh snap, I didn't even realize until you pointed it out. I guess I must be subconsciously punny. Also, yay, they fixed the bug that was keeping me from trading! My sis and I both have accounts, so they thought I was one person with two accounts, but now it's fixed, and I'm seeing what trades I can set up. Legally Blonde! /o/
