Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Wheey! I've became a human being!! I am very handsam!

you know, I don't think that's actually it. Sure that stuff got in the way a few times in the past, but there's something more to this quality shift.

If I had to guess it is either:
A. General trend of likable psychotic villains
B. Stopped stereotyping on particular nation(s)
C. Fight sequences are longer than 3 minutes

holy balls this season keeps getting better an better.
I don't see how they can wrap things up next episode, and at this point I don't even think they should try. I'll be happy if they just keep going with this tremendous momentum and leave it on a cliff-hanger.

now y'all know I don't give a damn about shipping nonsense

but in 100% complete seriousness I was expecting Korra to kiss Asami in that end scene and briefly thought "maybe this is why they aren't showing this on TV now"

From the same series that brought you genocide, parental abuse, animal cruelty, and forced marriages. Remember, kids' show.

So what was up with sparky sparky boom lady and Zaheer?

It was like, bam, the writers arbitrarily decided to make them in love for a scene. And that's it.
I swear, that scene was like the stupid arbitrary drama of last 2 seasons condensed into 2 minutes.

Season finales are not complete without some sort of inflammatory shipping action.

They were mentioned as being a couple in one of the first episodes, when they rescued Ming Hua she says she was surprised Zaheer didn't go get his girlfriend first

^interesting fact. Didn't know/remember that.

But the fact that they didn't keep it up, enough for me to completely forget it, and suddenly get a "wut?" moment like this means they failed to present that part of the story well enough.
That, and it didn't seem like an interesting point to begin with.

That said. When she got that metal frame bent around her face, I nearly leaped up off my couch and yelled "holy crap!"
Freaking brilliant.

When she got rescued her and Zaheer kiss, and magma man goes "Really? Here?"

huh...

okay, okay. clearly there were more pointers to it than I thought. never mind.
The scene still seemed odd to me though.

Yeah, there were a lot of pointers to it, but I agree with you that they didn't develop it enough for it to be too emotional when she died. Since the seasons and episodes are so short and each season is following a theme of having a separate storyline, it makes it harder on character development. It was a great finale, though! I'm interested to see where they go with it next.

First off, there's a Korra thread here? :gshappy: Count me in!

Second, the ending was...unexpected at least, I thought that Zaheer's crew will be like :saturos: :menardi: :karst: :agatio: (read: well-intentoned extremists) , but then they're not the only ones from Red Lotus, so I hope book 4 will explore the organization's motives deeper.

Third, combustion lady's death. Had I not went to other internet forums discussing the Book 3 finale, I wouldn't have thought that her head went *kaboom*-sure it is a kids channel or whatever but AT LEAST give it away with sound effects :gsangry:

Overall, a satisfying finale-if only because the kickass fights+visuals and the plot catching me off-guard.
