Mhm, the series started out with the taking away of bending powers. It'd be neat to see it come full circle with giving bending abilities. |

Bitchin'. Man, I wish they'd go the Netflix route and just hand out all the episodes at once. |

It could be the lion turtles returning. Though remember they were actually in the physical world to begin with and just hid themselves away, rather than being inaccessible in the spirit world all this time. Plus, it looks like Bumi was pretty surprised there when the air came out, like it came out accidentally and he had never done it before. If he got it from a lion turtle that seems like an odd reaction. |

Viacom isn't going to let them all go to Netflix. Since Avatar is one f their biggest money makers they will squeeze it for all its got. That's why we have 4 Korra seasons instead of the planned 1. Also back when ATLA was airing yet sold DVDs in sets of 4 or 5 before the full season. If memory serves, they were about $20 each. Bumi has been the comic relief chraracter. I would expect him to react that way jf he did get airbending from a lion turtle. Or maybe Bryke throws a cheap one and reveals be was an airbender all along. |

Oh, looks like the premiere is in two days. Dunno how I didn't find that out until now! Also, it was just announced that Platinum Games is making a Korra video game for consoles. With Platinum making it there's a chance it will be good, though being published by Activision and being downloadable-only means it probably doesn't have much of a budget at all, so who knows. |

Agreeing with Crash, it doesn't look like this season has a designated "this bending element/faction is evil" angle so much as a bunch of different, diverse conflicts seem to be in the making, which I am totally cool with. The trailer did a good job of demonstrating that a lot of stuff is going to be going on without giving much of a hint about the overarching plot. "Change" seems like a really accurate title for the season so far. A few random thoughts: Anybody notice the architecture of that city in the opening? It looks like the White Lotus has become a formal power/presence in the world. Oh shit it's Combustion Woman/Daughter! Giant sand worms yesssssss. We finally get to see Fire Lord Zuko, and it looks like he has a dragon. I wonder if that blue glider Korra is using was Aang's, or if the new Airbenders/Acolytes simply started mass producing them as their newest design.

actually it's been known for a while that Zuko is no longer the Fire Lord, his daughter is the Fire Lord now. |

Oh gog. I'm not sure if I like Zuko being in the season. 1. They changed his voice actor ;_; 2. He and Katara are the only members of Team Avatar alive. By tumblr logic this can only mean one thing. |

Yeah I know that. General Iroh is just a token character that shows up for two episodes per season. He's like that one random uncle that shows up to your house every now and then. You expect him to embarrass you all but instead just gives you a random gift, never to be seen until next family gathering. |

So does elderly Katara have the same voice actress as young Katara? Not sure why Zuko's change of voice actor is not acceptable. |

No she has a different voice actor. Something just seems odd about changing Dante Basco, a fan of ATLA, to a new guy. That and the fact that Zuko grew out of a lisp. Last time I checked those are permanent. |

They're not, actually kinda seems like you're just looking for any and every reason to hate this show. maybe that effort would be better spent not watching this and finding a show you actually like? |

I really struggle to imagine how a youthful voice like Basco's could fit elderly Zuko. |

As a fan of the original series, I am biased to a keeping a connection between both seres. But it has been clear that some elements have been compromised. Book 1 could very well have been the same book 4 parody. The only difference is the addition of two side characters, Bolin and Asami). But yes, I do like the series. Some design choices which are claimed to target younger age groups are what I don't. |

good contribution to the conversation Sec, very helpful speaking of voices carrying over from the first series, this Kai kid almost certainly shares Aang's voice! Looks like I was just about right with regard to the villains being of every nation, too. |

Funny, because it did occur to me that Kai is a lot like Aang, if he was an ungrateful shithead. The VA is different though. Also yeah, I forgot Zuko was no longer Fire Lord. Also who wants to bet he dies within the next two episodes? Nice to see the Dai Li are still douchebag brainwashing secret police.

Man these episodes have been pretty good so far, far better than the dullness and crappy characterization in early Book 2. It looks like they're playing two new episodes in a row every single Friday until the end of the season. |
