Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Wheey! I've became a human being!! I am very handsam!

not one comment in there about the best new character Eska?

EDIT: And after looking it up, I really should have known it was Aubrey Plaza providing her voice.

I enjoyed what we saw of her. She and Bolin should provide some good amusement.

All the new characters are wonderful. That Unuloq is looking like a misguided antagonist.

He sort of runs the risk of just being Tarrlok 2.0 though. However I think he has more to do with the spirits than he lets on, and if so that will take him in different directions.

FINALLY was able to watch it.

That was fun. I'm SO glad we finally got a new change of scenery, and I presume there'll be some traveling in the future if/when this initial bit in the south gets taken care of. Pretty good new characters.
I thought a few people acted pretty unrealistically aggressive around the whole "this is what Korra SHOULD do" business, but then I remembered it was a kids show, and that over-the-top attitudes are simpler and faster to understand.
That first fight with a spirit was wonderful. It definitely reminded me of some of the more epic fights in the original avatar.

Anyway, I'd say it's a great start. Does anyone know how long this season is scheduled to last?

14 episodes I believe

I can understand why Tonraq was so against letting Korra be with Unalaq, being both her father and resentful of his brother, but Tenzin did seem over-the-top

This is the only connection he has left with his dad, man.

Aang sucked as a dad then, huh? Makes sense since he grew up in a monastery where the family unit didn't exist, he probably didn't really know what a father is supposed to do. Plus his avatar duties and such like they said in the show.

I've heard a lot about this show but what is it exactly? Is it like, on the level of the 2003 Turtles cartoon or something (which I think is awesome, even if it does fit the Saturday morning cartoon stereotype quite well)?

I'm not sure I see how the first question is related to the second.

Honestly though I would recommend against watching this show if you haven't already watched all of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Well, I meant both of them. And yeah that was worded strangely; I'm basically just asking if it's like a typical Saturday morning cartoon or more like an anime.

Slash, please tell me that that was a very poor attempt at trolling. How can you not have seen avatar?

I'm not much of a TV person (outside of anime and certain movies), that's how. :awe:

It's probably more similar to an anime than, say, spongebob.

Okay, well Avatar The Last Airbender is like 2003 Ninja Turtles in that there is a story arc, both within individual seasons and over-arching across the series, while still retaining common "Saturday morning" cartoon elements like frequent humor. I think TMNT was a little more episodic in nature (that is, many episodes could appear anywhere in the story and still make sense) and Airbender followed a plot more closely while still having some "episodic" moments. Legend of Korra is the follow-up series, which is a little bit more mature, and sticks to a plotline more closely than Airbender did.

Alright, that makes sense. Actually doesn't sound bad. I loved the 2003 TMNT cartoon so I'd probably like Avatar as well.

Man, considering how often Korra uses violence to solve problems, I'd almost consider her an antihero.
