I just realized something. Maybe I don't have any skin problems because I don't really eat any chocolate or foods that tend to make you break out. I know that chocolate is something that does it but I forget the others... But yeah, I might not need any facial products, but chapstick has always been something I use often. -__-; Probably because I don't drink much, unless my throat is dry from singing. |

I use MaxClarity, this weird obscure QVC brand but like DAMN it works wonders. but I stopped using it for a couple days because I forgot and it became HORRIBLE. I hear that's what Proactive does too. Some big brand stuff will [radio edit] up your skin if you forget it D: |

According to my dermatologist, foods have no proven connection to acne. He got really pissed when I asked him about that. =_= I was all 'so i've stopped with dairy and it seems to be hel--' 'NO NO THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO SUGGEST THAT FOODS CAN AFFECT ACNE HOWEVER YOUR PERIOD DOES AFFECT IT' I think he mentioned my period like four times. o_0 |

There is no connection with food affecting acne. It is one of those acne myth. Acne is all related to biology and blame your parent's genes. |

Yeah, apparently food affecting acne is one of those old wives tales. Ooh, interesting story with Accutane with me! So, there aretwo brands here, Roaccutane, the main one, and Oratane, the generic. For some reason, the dermatologist told me to take Roaccutane like... what, 1 and a half years ago now? There are two problems: WHY THE HELL DO YOU GIVE A 12 YEAR OLD A HORMONE CHANGING DRUG? WHY THE HELL DO YOU GIVE A KID WITH PEANUT ALLERGIES SOMETHING THAT USES PEANUTS IN THE SHELL? Dead serious about that last one. She even ASKED if I had any allergies. It makes sense that my mum screamed her head off at the dermatologist next time. And then what did she say? That I should crack it open and drink it like a syrup... which makes little sense. Thank God I read through the instructions myself, so I never took the Roaccutane, but I'm not sure if it would have done much... anyway, I went on Oratane, which, as I made sure, didn't have any pearnuts in the shell. But that still leaves the first problem- the GP prescribed me off it like, a month later. I have no idea what happened to her, but there's been a new medical centre built since then, where our GP goes, so... Meh, my acne started off a lot sooner and a lot worse than most people my age, like everyone else in my family. I started taking Differin antibiotics about 2-3 months ago, but stopped, because that could be causing deppression and mild psychosis... but that doesn't seem to be helping me, since I've stopped it. Oh well, I swapped around with facesoaps a bit, but right now, I'm using QV. My acne's more or less gone now, but it's probably just as much that I've "grown out of it" or something >_> |

Seeing those responses under Necare-style is hilarious. Also, I have anecdotal evidence of stuff being food related, so science can stuff it. I use some obscure stuff called Kleenskin - it basically kicks ass. Not much for a preventative, but it kills anything within a couple of days. |

Proactive was the only thing that honest to goodness worked for me, but it's super expensive and I started using it during the latter half of my acne problems. Clean and Clear always dried out my skin, so did most nutregina products, and I would get really painful rashes from other creams that were strong enough for the acne but fried my skin <__< Since my problems stopped I've used basic soap and water for a long time now, just recently using an oil control product from Clean and Clear 'cause the soap I'm using now was starting to dry my skin XP This topic is also made of great lulz and epics. |
