The second season made the series magnificent. also, I just got done watching through Madoka Magica. Dang, that was intense! The ending was certainly an interesting approach, but I'm not terribly fond of it. Other that that, great anime

You can either take things literally or read for deeper meanings. Some for example think Spoiler: click to toggle The Child Broiler is symbolic, but I honestly regard it as a literal place, such as how everyone talks about it as such. Not to mention, consider the fact that some places actually do treat kids in such a poor fashion in the real world and I really find it easy to just say 'It's a real place that shows up how messed up and unfair Penguindrum's world is.' One of the arguments against faith, but don't forget it does glorify faith too ala Himari's message at the end. Don't get me wrong, the plot definitely follows a line and all, but due to things like the immense amount of flashbacks, there's a lot of going back and forth.

True Name: simplechild	Ano Natsu 11 Bah, was hoping that the whole ALIENS thing would be kept in the background, because now I don't seem to understand why everything is happening so quickly. It's like the anime suddenly remembered that it had a plot and everything seems to be getting rushed for the end. Though, that meant seeing Remon being a friggin badass and I liked when that happened, so this is a 50/50 thing. I just hope they handle the ending to this series better than they did for Ano Hana, because that ending disappointed the shit out of me.
