Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Well, in my opinion, he's been better and more interesting than a lot of the side characters (like Tenten, Neji, Hinata, etc). I also really liked the part where he cheered Naruto up with his speech.

Nah, just kidding. Not a Naruto fan (In fact, I'm an anti-fan) but it's whatever. I do like Bleach, though.

Eternity Awaits You and Me

I've never watched/read Naruto or Bleach, despite my good friend/ex-girlfriend always urging me to (she's pretty obsessed with both, but dislikes anime on the large part. She likes her few series, and doesn't want to stretch out).

You have to understand: it took me YEARS before I would watch Haruhi. I tend to avoid popular series. Because they tend to be not nearly as good as folk want them to be. I especially tend to avoid them if there's a strong backlash to them as well. And if the strong backlash comes from an older crowd than the "love it" crowd.

That doesn't mean I won't watch popular series. I like to give lesser-known and popular-but-not-over-the-top-popular series a chance first.

If ever you watch Bleach, watch it subbed. I know there are those folks out there that say only subs are good (and then those hardcore kids who insist you learn Japanese. xD) But the English Voice actors for Bleach are atrocious. All of them. Especially one of the main girls. She has that stereotypical anime-So-highpitched-you-could-only-hear-it-if-you're-a-dog voice.

Yep, it was pretty good. Naruto is so going to destroy Sasuke now...I hope.

And Warden, I'll keep that in mind.

Sound the horn and call the cry: "How many of them can we make die?"

Yeah, it's funny, those happen to be the side-characters I don't like either. XD

The biggest specific problem I can think of is that Kishi keeps introducing new characters when the return of an old character would usually work just as well, thus bloating the already-huge cast with more people we don't care about and thus have no reason to care if they live or die. The two bodyguards who were with Danzou at the conference, for example: they could easily have been Shino and Ino, but noooo, we have to have more characters who will only be around for a few chapters and then never seen again.

But, credit where credit is due--Kishi's good at creating interesting character concepts, even if he sucks at following through on them.

I don't blame you in the least. While I tend to find that there's at least some reason that they're popular, anything with massive amounts of fans is going to get over-hyped.

You have a point. The cast is quite huge right now, and I suspect it will only get larger as the series nears its end. Heck, there are some characters I don't even remember the names of because they play(ed) such a minor role in the story.

Episode 12 of Angel Beats! is out. Getting at the speed of light.

Too bad there's only one episode after this one...

They probably won't. I mean, look at Baccano.

But if they do...

*is watching Angel Beats! right now* I like it. On episode seven.

Also, I don't like Naruto at all. It's too much fighting, not enough plot. And if what Squee's saying about characters is true, then there's no reason for me to push through and read/watch it. Folks can like it, but it's just not my thing.

I'm going to delete you for being a Calvin and Hobbes fan. >_>

Anyway, Angel Beats!, woo! I don't know what series to try next. Maybe that Eden of the East one? Or rewatch Xam'd.

I think Shippuden has more plot than the original. The original does have quite a lot of fighting.
