Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

From wiki:

"In Kino's Journey, the protagonist, Kino, accompanied by a talking motorcycle, a Brough Superior motorcycle named Hermes, travels through a mystical world of many different countries and forests, each unique in its customs and people. Kino only spends three days and two nights in every town, without exception, on the principle that three days is enough time to learn almost everything important about a place, while leaving time to explore new lands. Kino says in The Land of Visible Pain that this principle is probably a lie, specifically noting "if I stay any longer, I'm afraid I will settle down." A phrase repeated in the anime and novels is "The world is not beautiful, therefore it is." Kino's Journey explores what the anime director Ryūtarō Nakamura described as "a radical sense of 'beauty,"[2] and brutality, loneliness, nonsense, oppression and tragedy are often juxtaposed against compassion and a fairy-tale atmosphere.

For protection and hunting, Kino carries a .44 single action revolver (called "the Cannon", based on a Colt M1851) that uses liquid explosives in place of gunpowder and a .22 automatic pistol (named "the Woodsman", based on a Colt Woodsman). Later in Kino's adventures in the novels, Kino also uses a pump action shotgun (based on a Winchester M1897) and a semi-automatic sniper rifle (called "the Flute", based on an Arisaka Type 99 rifle), along with a variety of other tools, including knives. In the anime, Kino is shown to carry no less than five knives on person, including one which can fire .22 bullets from its hilt. Kino is an unusually quick draw and practices every day before dawn.

Technology in this world exists, sometimes to the level of science fiction, although anachronisms are common (for example, the same land that has talking robots also appears to have phonographs, yet simultaneously the world has only begun to develop heavier-than-air flight). The level of technology also varies from country to country. The world is not heavily magical (the only "magical" elements include land that moves, a talking motorcycle, and a talking dog), although it has a certain fairy-tale quality."

does anyone know what anime will start in the next season or whatever? this one was kind of disappointing
no 6 and dantalian no shoka were both insta-likes for me (actually second episode of dantalian but w/e) but they both went downhill its gross
first couple eps of no 6 had me hooked but then the atmosphere changed and became bad and they didnt explain things properly and rushed the ending and stuff :@@@@@

I find myself having trouble committing to longer series recently. Looks like it's Kino's Journey instead of Princess Tutu for now.

Fate/Zero and a bunch of lesser things for you fans of hipster anime with unpronounceable Japanese names.

Gah, they WOULD save the Team Archer commercial for last. On the other hand though, BERSERKER commercial tommorow.

Ooh, right, Kino no Tabi! I'm tempted to switch to that and then make plans to just watch Princess Tutu in person with my friend. How did I forget I had that one on my list?

Kino's Journey is my favorite series.
I have the first novel... have any others been translated? I'm not sure, orz.

I used to love it too, and should watch it again even though I never watch anime anymore. just because I already know it's good. *___*
No, Tokyopop had trouble with the license for the second novel so it was never released. They cancelled the series a couple of years ago, sadly. And now Tokyopop's gone so we would have been screwed even if they were able to release more of the novels (though admittedly more Kino would be better...).

Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam
Persona 4
Shakugan no Shana III

ಠ_ಠ

also Un-Go, Kyoukai Senjou No Horizon and Kimi to Boku look interesting.

And Draco, in about 2 weeks you should start watching Nichijou. It'll remind you of Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star. Why two weeks? That's when the last episode airs.

Bleach is pretty standard Shounen, really. I'd say the Soul Society arc is the only one worth reading all the way through, then it's okay to drop.

*actually rereads that link*

Woah I thought Persona 4 was only gonna be 12 episodes, not 25

Consider my interest reignited.

But come on, with the people behind Fate/Zero and it's own awesomeness, if it ISN'T the best anime of this season then I'll either be pissed because it sucks or be very interested in what the greater anime is.

I think I'll watch some Nanoha to clear my head.

There are 3 seasons, and 2 manga seasons [as well as various companion manga [more like omakes really] for the 3 anime series].
