It's about a 17-year-old artist who lives in a world where Tokyo's the only remaining country in the world. One day, mysterious weapons start attacking the city, and while trying to escape, he comes across a "shrine". There, a giant humanoid hatches from the black egg in the center(it's actually really hard to call it a robot) and fights off the attackers. Soon afterwards, he's forced inside of the mech, and accidentally leaves Tokyo using its powers. Then he learns that Tokyo's surrounded by a giant barrier, and that people on the outside call it "Tokyo Jupiter" due to the visage of the barrier. After realizing there's no way back, he starts unwillingly working for an organization whose goal is to fight against the "Mu" which reside in Tokyo Jupiter. That's the first two episodes in a nutshell. From then on, the story starts focusing on the protagonist's struggles to adapt into his new world, with a few "mecha" battles scattered in various places. The plot is amazing, the character development and interaction is really good(there's a lot of focus on side-characters and villains), and the way music and art is blended into the story really gives it a unique, artsy style. And there's just so many really touching scenes. Well, touching or just downright ironically tragic. Tear-inducing either way. People claim the plot's confusing, but I'm not really seeing it. There's just a lot of dots to be connected, though it definitely has a jigsaw puzzle plot. Regardless, this is probably going to be my main recommendation to people for a while. It's just so amazing. And it has the most beautiful opening I've ever heard. EDIT: Hahah wow that was longer than I intended it to be. Also, I need to watch Carnival Phantasm 3. |

Well, to be fair, the only other heroine in F/SN is Saber. Sakura? Who? I don't see any "Sakura," do you? Also god Ilya made me HNNNNNNNNNNG so much in episode 3. Also the Afterschool Alleyway Alliance is amazing. Riesbyfe trolling Sacchin is the best thing. ...Also you would link the scenery porn, wouldn't you Peytral? |

Male protagonist and gothic loli go on adventures involving forbidden magical books. Said pair of man and loli have an established magical bond that both still have to get used to. |

Well it's of the mystery genre, but the biggest mystery remains being exactly how anyone can put up with being in the company of that particular gothic loli. The characters do not develop, at all. In fact they might have went the opposite direction of developing, and she is just getting more and more irritating to watch. |
