idk, maybe I'm wrong but Stands seemed (judging just from the beginning) to shift the tension from "Joseph is the underdog and uses his wits/ridiculous schemes to outdo his opponents/win" to "oh shit Jotaro's Stand is just Really Strong guys" and just him powerlevelling his way to victory I like the aesthetic of Stands tho |

Okay, that's a fair argument. In later parts the stands get more creative uses other than ORAORAORAORAORAORAORA though. |

Hey, don't bring me into this, but it's true Jotaro sux until near the end. That's pretty dubious. There are actually quite a few arcs that are related. Also, @powerleveling or w/e Jotaro does just bust through things a lot in the beginning but the other characters are less power levels and there are quite a few arcs, even in Stardust Crusaders, that bring back the creative thinking/mind games aspect, even with Jotaro. |

That's not a problem with Stands, it's a problem with Stardust Crusaders and Jotaro in general. And there are a ton of arcs that don't involve Jotaro power leveling things, since Stardust Crusaders balances its focus between the cast. And Polnareff is the real protagonist anyways. |

Polnareff has some of the worst focus episodes in Stardust Crusaders, though. |

I don't mean to say that like 99% is irrelevant or anything, but like, Oingo Boingo, for example, while an amazing arc, didn't really have anything to do with Dio beyond being his assassins, which is what a lot of the arcs boil down to. Somebody on reddit tallied it up, Polnareff actually has slightly more focus episodes than Jotaro. Also the Set arc is super stupid and juvenile but it's only two episodes anyway, none of the other arcs get that bad. Also yeah a lot of Jotaro's early fights are just plain Star Platinum being stronger than the foe but it gets better as time goes on. Part of that, though, is that Star Platinum doesn't have a special power beyond just beating the shit out of things really fast and hard KitN don't click this But like solbowz said, eventually even Jotaro will has to use his brain to get to the ORAORA point sometimes. As far as the future goes, Josuke in DiU wins most fights using the unique power of his Stand, so yeah, it's mostly just Jotaro for power leveling. |

Here's the thing really, it takes a while before Araki get completely batshit crazy with what Stands do, and what has to be done to conquer them. "Jotaro being fucking stronk" eventually stops being a valid method and it gets a lot better once that happens. |

Ahh well I'm glad I finally clicked on this thread after like 2 weeks because I share a lot of Satty's sentiments regarding what I've experienced so far with Stardust Crusaders. I'll probably pick it back up now and give it another chance, once I get over my current disinterest in anime. Battle Tendency is still the best JoJo arc. |

idk even Jotaro's boring af character for 40 episodes can't make him worse than Jonathan. |

Joseph is clearly more of an actual character compared to both Jonathan and Jotaro, but Jotaro is much better than Jonathan tbqh famalam. Could I wish for some actual character development like Joseph? Sure, but again, he's got more character than Jonathan. He may be edgy but his heart is in the right place and I like that. also im weak for "cool animu characters" type of character, like jotaro, itachi, kuchiki byuakya etc etc dont judge me Still loving SC. 18 episodes in. While the MotW continues I again state that it's not even nearly as MotW as Power Rangers. In SC the story actually moves forward, and the Stand users are actually different to each other. In a true MotW they would have the exact same powers and be defeated in the exact same way following an exact combination of actions that repeats itself in the exact same way every episode. Am I having fun every episode? Yes I am. Ridiculous characters on a roadtrip is just the best. And that's what matters in the end I suppose, even if the writing isn't Nobel Prize class. episode 19...Jotaro's gonna ORA a freaking baby isn't he... oh...no it was even worse than ORA |

Nope, one of the few things I didn't actually know about beforehand via memes. I think I might know the name and maybe what it looks like from searching up JoJo before starting to watch it, but I have no idea what it does. So in every way so far Dios stand is mostly a surprise which is nice since a lot of memes spoiled other things for me. |
