and I've heard that Stardust Crusaders is a fan favorite.

Only because it was a lot of people's introduction to the series.
What? I mean sure the time/generation skips could work for standalones I suppose but so far the story arcs have been connected in several important ways. That would be like starting in the middle of Naruto and be like "yeah its a show about ninjas I don't need to know the backstory of anything or anyone".

That's like the main difference between manga and western comics. In Marvel and DC comics you can start anywhere anytime, you don't need to read the +900 previous issues to get into the characters and stories. But starting at chapter 500 of a 1000+ chapter manga? No can do.
It also helps that Part 3 is a very comprehensive adaptation of mostly episodic material so you enjoy the main cast's personalities a lot more than a plot-centric story. It also the most popular in terms of /all the fanart/ that spawned.

And they're pretty good and full of dank memes, i wont lie.

You can enjoy Stardust Crusaders without parts 1/2, but they do a lot to provide context for Dio and why he's such a big deal

Though knowing Joseph as more than just Jotaro's grandfather is a nice bonus

That said part 5 is Japan's favorite because of all the pretty boys

Also don't listen to Satty, he hates fun if it's not girls doing it

Granted I've only watched 3 episodes so far but he's fucking based m8

But then again I dropped Madoka (for now) which you love so I guess we're even.

But yes, I've watched 3 episodes now and I loved them. So my explanations for the fanbase apparently shitting on it is 1. It becomes much worse with time, 2. I have terrible disgusting taste, 3. It's your classic "It's popular so therefore I hate it" situation.

But if the first few episodes gives any idea to how the story arc will be like, you can call me a Stardust Crusader fan already

Also the opening is on fire

The fanbase is just dumb because Stardust Crusaders is a silly monster of the week story and that's too immature and badly-written for them.

Also it's partially hype aversion because it's such a popular part.

Yeah I think it was at like 5 episodes in. I think I just started it during a bad time and my body wasn't ready to receive its gifts. That's why I'm thinking of giving it a second try from scratch soon.

No, skipping part of a story makes you a casual

DIO'S World makes every questionable part of SC worth it
Nah KitN obviously you just skip Madoka for Rebellion according to silvy logic

Except Rebellion is a direct sequel to the events of Madoka, whereas DiU is a story following a different protagonist within the same setting.

to be fair he didn't skip all of SC, he watched about half of it and just got bored.

It's almost hard to believe you actually didn't like it up until the last few episodes considering you're now pretty much Homura-levels of obsessed with it.

I don't know why you'd want to watch DiU if you don't want to watch SC

SC is quite literally simultaneously the end of old Jojo and the beginning of new Jojo (the AU parts 7/8 aside)

SC is the final appearance of Joseph in a major role, the last time Hamon is used in the series, and Dio's death

SC is also the first modern era Jojo, the first appearance of Jotaro, the most recurring Jojo, and the first appearance of Stands

Most of the MotW stuff is irrelevant to the overall plot but I still don't know why you'd want to watch DiU if you can't even enjoy at least part of SC

SC does it the worst I think, but all Jojo parts from then on have a MotW structure

Jotaro gets stale over the course of SC but he's really good in the final arc and stays that way in DiU

Ask solbowz

Also yeah I don't know wtf you're smoking if you don't like Stands but the entire rest of the series is Stands so yeah go away

Yeah I'm 8 episodes in now and I'm having F U N

Not bothered by the MotW concept, like at all. It's not even nearly as bad MotW as say, old superhero comics or Power Rangers.

Yeah hating stands is a low blow I'm calling the cops

Dios evil calm voice while standing shirtless in the dark makes me tingly all over

And yes SC really seems like an important middle piece. Like it's based and connected from the previous two arcs, and will eventually play an important role for future arcs. So skipping the previous ones makes you miss out on SC, and skipping SC makes you miss out on the next arcs. Not that I know the full extent of it yet.
