Spoiler: click to toggle I'm at the Second Vaizel fight tournament, that time it's organized by the Ten Commandments to lure powerful beings to them to eat their souls. Even though we've barely learned anything about most of the Ten Commandments I'm loving these villians. Galand was absolutely based. Also that Escanor...praise the fucking sun.

I'm gonna rewatch it, with my brother this time, but back when I watched it I started with Bake. Watching it in the order it aired seems weird since Kizu didn't air until last year. Does the anime like maybe, assume you're already familiar with the characters if you start with Kizu, or does it flow fine for newcomers? Like I said, possibly a dumb question.

On that note I think the airing order would be better for your brother. Part of the mystery aspect of the show is piecing together the events chronologically, and the airing order is still more or less easy to follow since it's written in short arcs that slowly build the overarching story and characters, similar to how Kara no Kyoukai plays out. Kizu itself definitely wouldn't have the same impact on someone who is unfamiliar with the characters, it's effective because it provides much needed backstory but as an introduction to the series it would be like "okay... That's a thing." Also, congrats on getting your brother into degenerate things like Bakemonogatari, I'm so, so proud of you.
