Ever seen the butt battles from Dead or Alive Xtreme? "Kaminashi Nozomi (17) is an exceptional gymnast. So much so that colleges with some of the best gymnastic programs are trying to recruit her. Unfortunately for them, she has other plans. Due to her family being extremely poor, money is everything to her. That's why she wants to step into the world of "Keijo." "Keijo" is a type of gambling sport where girls stand on a small floating platform and compete against one another. The aim is to push the other contestant off of the platform into the water, but they are only allowed to use their butt or breasts to push the others off. Will Nozomi be able to compete in the intense world of "Keijo" and bring wealth and fortune for her family?" It's just as silly and ridiculous as it sounds. And since every anime that depicts some sort of "sport" makes it over the top the boobs and butts create air pressure and shockwaves and blasts everyone into the air. It's great. Member #639 Joined: June 17, 2010 Gender: Male	So about Shinsekai Yori since we don't want to clutter whimsikal's thread: it's been a few months since I've seen it so I don't remember exactly what I took issue with. But as Nell said in the other thread, the pacing was ridiculous; everything happens too fast, and I remember there being one plot point in particular I never cared for, because the character involved in it did not get enough screentime for me to care about him. And by the last episode I just had no idea what the fuck I was supposed to care about anymore. It wasn't a bad show by any means, I just didn't like the last quarter of it much.

True Name: simplechild	Right now, this doesn't sound so much that you didn't like the fourth quarter. It feels more like you didn't pay attention. Like, if you were to flesh out your complaints to the point where you'd have to spoilertag it, this would be so much more helpful for me to understand where you're coming from. For example: SSY The pacing was not ridiculous in the fourth quarter. Everything that happens after the second timeskip is foreshadowed quite heavily beforehand: from Yakomaru's rebellious streak, the fate of Maria and Mamoru, the fundamental weaknesses of the story's social structure/ethics, the central question of whether having psychic powers really makes you any better than other humans (or queerats), and I can keep going on an on about how tightly written the setting is and how it answers quite a lot of questions through implications and visuals and methods other than just straight up telling you what happens or how the world works or why certain people act certain ways and jesus. What on earth did you miss to make all of that writing and visual information seem so inconsequential to you?

Euphonium is just too pretty, KyoAni puts so much loving detail into everything in this. Spoiler: click to toggle They totally made this episode an hour long so that they could start the season with yuribait though, holy shit. Polovtsian Dances makes everything better, I'm legitimately intrigued by the drama they elaborate on in this episode despite it involving minor characters, Asuka and Nozomi both have logical reasoning and it relates well to what the main characters are going through with the pressure of the nationals. The percussion pro guy is such a bro, lel. One of the things that really pulls me into the show is how expressive Kumiko is as a character(well, the characters in general too), you can really see how KyoAni has taken it up a notch above other series in making her expressive in both her body language and tone of voice, as well as including a lot of her thoughts on situations, which is usually left out of novel adaptations. Having a somewhat similar personality to her probably helps but I find her more relate able than most anime protagonists because of this. Her thoughts about treasuring her time with her friends hits a lot closer to home than I'd think as it's something I tend to find myself reflecting on alot recently, time passing is the worst. I just hope those thoughts of hers aren't foreshadowing something bad.
