Well, I was thinking that if he were the Claw boss, having taken the most powerful psychic in town under his wing would've been a good way to keep an eye on him, and a con artist day job would've been an interesting cover
Plus it could explain why he never used any powers, since touching them might have unleashed that 'super powerful aura'

But yeah, I should've known better than to expect something that serious

Instead you just got serious development of Mob and Reigen's relationship and a look at the type of man Reigen was before he met Mob. Oh nooooooooooooo

Not to mention this was the most ONE way to write that twist, and quite honestly made the most narrative sense. Though I think any other shounen might have gone for what you were expecting.

Mob, Dimple, and several other characters detect no power from Reigan at all. So far, there's no indication in the series that you can completely hide your power level from other psychics. That scar guy that rekt Mob and Ritsu had a detectable power level even when he wasn't trying to draw attention.

Not to mention that Reigan outright can't see Dimple, while Ritsu being able to was the hint that he was developing powers.

With all of that stuff and Reigan's personality, since he's narrating the previews in character (and the fact that every other preview was tongue in cheek "buy the BDs, don't pirate"), it was pretty obvious that it was a fake twist.

Oh no I wasn't disappointed, I still like what they ended up doing with it. But I think it would've been an interesting angle on making the boss someone sympathetic who we already like, instead of... well, whatever it will actually be

And yeah, I figured hiding your power was like, high-level thing. I mean, Mob walks around with probably the biggest power around, but spends most of the time with it sealed/repressed. It's not like the scar guy noticed him sitting on the bench, conversely. I figured this was a similar sealing. Likewise with being unable to see Dimple/pretending he couldn't?
Or at least, what I mean is that I was prepared to rationalize as necessary to accommodate that 'plot twist'

it was actually sweet and preeetty feels, and some of the action scenes were great. Ilya fighting aerially with Tanaken looked awesome, and I'm always read to enjoy some chuuni sword action
and Rin's recap of everything that happened since the start was nice, and I think ties into one of the main reasons I like Prisma Illya. That sometimes, the simple hope/determination/resiliency of children is something that adults have often forgotten. It's a very idealistic thing, but one that I think is worth remembering from time to time.

It's really interesting to see more of Miyu's character coming out, now that a lot of the things that were holding her down psychologically have mostly cleared. She seems much more like a normal girl, especially when she's around Shirou.

Reaaaaaally enjoyed this chapter, both Rin trying to work things out, and Shirou's late night conversation with Angelica

They built up to that sooo well, and I love how they introduced the concept of "dolls of the dead," all the while having Angelica front and centre. And given that all the other 'Servants' were dolls, it makes sense that Angelica would be too
and like Shirou said, her use of spatial displacement magecraft

I really like what we see of Zachary via Saber and how it contrasted to Darius, and the personality shift from Darius to Julian
I was always really dissatisfied with that before, but with this explanation, I am 100% on-board for this
And also making Julian more sympathetic, by comparing him with Shirou

and also having a "father's legacy" he's struggling with, trying to assert his own vision/save the world

This Shirou is absolutely amazing, love the deductive reasoning and coolness
and the 'casual leaning against the door frame' body language

Mangaka's symbolism art is on-point as always, the black-white inversion on the 'plot twist' in Rin's room, the backdrop of unweighted scales, the image of Darius against the castle, etc
