Silvy reminded me that Simple said this show kinda goes in circles, and I can see it. Pretty sure I need a big ms paint web to keep track of who likes who, most of which is done with half-assed justifications Tsumugu has things with Chisaki and Manaka Kaname has a thing for Chisaki and is liked by Sayu Hikari has a thing for Manaka and is liked by Manaka, Chisaki, and Miuna So it's basically the same plot as before except Miuna and Sayu are added personal ships: Tsumugu and Chisaki, Sayu and Kaname, Hikari and Miuna, Manaka and Sea God B)

idolswag4lyfe Posts: 4,760 Group: Venus Clan Member #210 Joined: July 3, 2007 Gender: Hollow Country: #238# True Name: Silvy Theme Song: https://youtu.be/AIG4mhLcplo	Yeah, as promising and interesting as Nagi no Asukara seems at times, "swimming in a fish bowl" almost applies too well to the characters in this show. ep 19 I was honestly starting to really like Chisaki's development and how she seems to actually be moving on, with her focus on her job and the more subtle shipbait with her and Tsumugu but we're just right back at square one with "I do like Hikari after all" now. Tbh, as much as it pains me to say this, the best direction the show could go in is to have Manaka not wake up, as it would more or less smooth out the love octahedragon-thing that is going on and allow for more development, particularly on Hikari's part.

True Name: simplechild	Nagi no Asukara The relationship web is pretty simple imo. Manaka and Hikari like each other but don't know it. Chisaki likes Hikari but also gravitates towards Tsumugu. Tsumugu likes Chisaki. I actually think there's very little to indicate that Tsumugu is attracted to Manaka at all. Kaname likes Chisaki. And then the timeskip puts age complications around Chisaki. It also allows Miuna to pursue Hikari and Sayu to pursue Kaname.

Chisaki will probably end up going with Tsumugu because of those age complications and the fact that it's been literally 5 years. Even if she is very attached to Hikari and her childhood in general despite seemingly having moved on, that 5 year difference makes her feel isolated from Hikari, hence why she didn't seem that bothered by Miuna macking on him. The ships are all there if Manaka doesn't wake up and it would show progression in Hikari to have interest in someone else so I get a strong feeling she's going to sleep for a long time, especially with that whole thing about the Sea God "taking something in return" and the fact that they forcefully removed her. I bet she'll wake up when Hikari is an adult and romance his kid or something weird like that. jfc the new Love Live is so focused on referencing the original and being like the original. I actually like some of the new cast but Sunrise is just sitting here like "remember the original cast? You should buy their shit so you don't feel like you miss them, oh yeah there's a new cast so buy their shit too." It still has the cheesy positive vibes and humour that I need in my life so I can't not watch it though. Chuuni characters make everything better. Unrelatedly
