True Name: simplechild	Saturos Jun 18 2016, 10:24 PM Nagi no Asukara ep 11 The animation is still really pretty, Uroko is still a best, the world/setting is still cool The love web is kind of getting a bit out of control Kaname likes Chisaki likes Hikari likes Manaka likes Tsumugu except actually likes Hikari All these one-way crushes All we need is for Tsumugu to like Kaname and we'll complete the circle Also Miuna crying would have been feels except the animation drew her tears the size of fists, so it came across as a bit comedic instead rip We were thinking/hoping that they'd do the Ofunehiki but then it doesn't work, and then the sea kids or some of them go to sleep, and then wake up with a lot of time passed on the surface - Tsumugu is now the old grandfather, Miuna and Sayu are moms, etc Or even better, the kids wake up at different rates, so like let's see Manaka wake up still a kid and see Tsumugu a grandfather Let's see Manaka and Hikari wake up and see Chisaki and Kaname married, and Chisaki has to deal with her old crush coming back, but oh he's still a kid so no worries We'll see Also I realized the ED is about sleeping, with the timer, and all the saltflake snow >implications

Really digging the simultaneous timelines they have going on here. It's a neat gimmick I don't see too often in anime, and it has me really intrigued about the world as a whole. Everything Subaru says is just legendary and it's pretty interesting seeing how he adapts to each situation(and how others react) after his "return by death" thing. It also allows the show to be deliberately paced while still tense af, if anything it's more tense because it's harder to judge whether they'll actually win a fight or not. This is the fantasy anime I needed in my life.

I had a feeling they were going to do that but the execution of it was great. You literally realize they actually went through with assassinating Subaru in his sleep as he realizes it waking up at the start of his last "save point." What's really adding to the tension of Subaru dying to me is him losing his shared experiences with each of the characters, especially Emilia. It's actually kinda heartbreaking seeing how cute they are together yet knowing Emilia doesn't and most likely won't share the same feelings for Subaru since his conversations with her are happening in different timelines. It's kinda like the idea Madoka and Mirai Nikki both deal with being seen from the other side, except Subaru isn't a crazy bitch(yet). Emilia's tsundere responses being playful with Subaru instead of overly violent are adorable and her smile is cute af, literally perfect waifu setting the example other waifus should follow.

Just his abject confusion and horror as he realized what happens. And yeah, one of the most interesting things about the show is the way he can't keep his relationships consistent throughout the resets. Especially wrt Emilia since she's the one he wants to bone but keeps getting [radio edit]ed over by return by death. Emilia is unfairly cute.
