It lines up perfectly - It would take some time to prepare the skeletons - say, nine months - lobotomy on the queens to use them only for reproduction, saki wonders what would happen if you used it on humans - maria and mamoru were definitely captured, lobotomized, and their child raised as a queerrat Fiend to rek everything this is going to be so tragic and rip also rip maria and mamoru EDIT: yeah, makes sense why they would do that flashback of Maria going "We're both girls, so we can't have kids, right?" since they want to bring up the question of 'having kids' in advance of oh, psychoqueerratfiend What I'm curious about is there's probably still going to be an arc after this where can they go from here Edited by Saturos, Feb 5 2016, 11:57 PM.

I remember having some specific thoughts on the story as it continued nearer the end and as it ended and I'm wondering if you will have much of the same experience.

Granted, I personally don't think the anime was great by any means, but it was very entertaining and sakugatastic. I have the same expectations for this.

Absolute 10/10, probably one of the best anime I've seen. I'll maybe do a more indepth post at some point, but I am just blown away.

Wow that was bad. This is why we should avoid watching airing shows and just focus on things that are well regarded by Simple and others. I'm left scratching my head at how Aragoto has an 8.50 on MAL, it has some funny moments I guess but the characterization and most fight scenes were pretty poorly done, even if it showed a lot of potential at times. Shinsekai Yori was indeed amazing though. It's hard to find the words to even describe it. It's such a unique blend of a lot of genres ranging from dystopian sci fi to horror to fantasy yet it manages to tell a very concise story at the same time. Shinsekai Yori spoilers That last episode in particular was just amazing, tied it up very nicely without trying to force a happy end. The moment with Saki reminiscing over the old times with Squealer before killing him out of mercy in the last episode was really feelsy. Squealer ended up being one of my favourite characters in the end. He does some terrible things to both humans and his own people but his motivations for doing so are very believable. You can't really blame him for doing what he did, his race was treated like dirt by both humans and the queen of their colony, it's only natural for a sentient being to want freedom from that. What the series does very effectively over all is how it presents its rather dark subject matter. There's a lot of calming, serene moments throughout the show that contrast the darker stuff that's happening within the story so it never feels like it's trying too hard to be grimdark. Usually I see series attempt to balance dark subject matter with light-hearted comedy, which usually ends up making it hard to take seriously so I'm glad to see something like Shinsekai Yori take a different, more effective direction.
