Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

There's also the fact that, Murata, the guy that does the redraw, loved the original story enough to bother to actually do that.

I'm only an anime secondary myself but obviously if the characters/plot themselves had no merit the redraw and the anime wouldn't even exist.

The webcomic has more artistic integrity through its use of impressionism and abstract ideas to represent the bizarre world of OPM. The redraw is just generic "good" art.
I'm so proud of you bro

But yeah I was skeptical too, Kitten, but the original did not disappoint. You just start seeing it in full detail anyway due to imagination

I'm 99% sure I'm going to start reading the original as well as soon as I catch up with manga. Didn't mean to offend anyone by calling it autistic. It was a bad way to call it bad.

I've started watching RahXephon with a friend. Saw 3 episodes and made a good amount of 999 jokes. I'm enjoying it so far. There are a bunch of questions that I have that don't have answers yet and I'm curious.

I did see one episode of OPM. I'm not sure how I feel about it currently, but will probably watch a bit more at some point (1 episode is not usually enough for me to judge a series from). Me and a different friend were trying to guess what series the various enemies were based from.

The new Lupin show is pretty good, I can't believe no official subbing groups (as far as I know) picked it up.

Crunchyroll picked it up like a week or two ago. Which is a shame because it's so nicely produced and directed and then once in a while this happens

Story's dated as hell like a James Bond flick though. muh wimminz in dis tress (with the obvious exception of Fujiko but really).

Crunchyroll is so weird, they added the other three main Lupin series just before this one started but didn't bother getting the license for this one until now?

Also started Shinsekai Yori with Silvy. Two eps in and I'm really feeling it, atmosphere/music/animation/suspense are all pretty on-point

The animation varies considerably and gets pretty inconsistent as the series goes on. It's almost like they took the budget for 12 episodes and stretched it to 24. Episode 5 is particularly infamous (not only for the weird art/animation, but also some truly bizarre plot developments, even for this series).

Overall, though, it's really something else, and the ending is beyond perfect. In fact, the whole second half is perfect, inconsistent art/direction aside. I wish I could watch it for the first time again :gsfrown:

I need to finish that show, but I'm at the beginning of the last arc, and I'm pretty sure it will crush me.

I binge read Sasameki Koto today because I love to cry.

Caught up with both the redraw and original of OPM. The whole Garou story arc was glorious.

The humour is pretty spot on. Lost it at

Episodes 5 and 10 are directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi, best known for Casshern Sins. His style is purposefully disorienting and depending on what he's working on it's pretty effective. Other times it can get lolwutty. I think it works for the better in terms of Shinsekai Yori, given the content of these episodes.

Glad to see you're watching Shinsekai, Satty. It's one of my favorites.
